About Janice King

My husband Tim and I have been long time residents of Sonoma. Together we shared a special dream of owning some land with space to have special events in Sonoma Valley for years. When we found Many Moons Ranch we knew it was the right spot for us and our family. The Event Barn has hosted several jazz concerts and other special occasions which is one of our passions, creating and sharing wonderful experiences with others. We have always loved Sonoma and we invite you to share the Sonoma Valley experience.

Janice King purchased this farmhouse in 2012

Why Janice King chose Sonoma County

This property is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Sonoma Valley. It has a great history of ranching and wine making. This property only had 1 previous owner as it was handed down for generations. We love the history, beauty and location - so close to everything but you feel far away!

What makes this farmhouse unique

Located in Sonoma surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills our 1940's farm house is the perfect wine country retreat. This home is just 3 miles from the historic Sonoma Plaza. This gated property sits on 4 private acres surrounded by vineyards, estates and ranches on Sonoma desirable Carriger Road. We are close to many wineries, shopping, hiking, biking, the perfect real wine country getaway. This farm house has space and allows you to experience the rural country living, while enjoying all the conveniences of today.

The restaurants here in Sonoma are incredible, but you can also prepare your own meals in the fully – stocked kitchen. The kitchen features granite counter tops, great built in cabinet, dishwasher and refrigerator and stove. There is a flat screen TV, DVD player, cable and WIFI.

There are 2 bedrooms both with queen beds and new linens for the ultimate in comfort. Between Sonoma Valley adventures you can relax in the outside covered patio grill!

Personal catered meals can be arranged along with in-house massages for an additional cost.

“Wine Country doesn't get more real than Sonoma Valley, whose rich soils mark the birthplace of California's wine industry. It's also the closest wine region to San Francisco, just 45 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Cradled between the Mayacamas and the Sonoma Mountain ranges, Sonoma Valley encompasses a rolling patchwork of vineyards, quaint farms and 13,000 acres of scenic park parkland. In the center of town, the eight-acre Sonoma Plaza is a National Historic Landmark, strewn with sprawling shade trees and bordered by carefully preserved adobe buildings.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Janice was a wonderful host. She was welcoming, friendly, and helpful when we arrived. The rental house was beautiful, clean, and well-appointed. Our group enjoyed the outdoor area by the pool in the afternoons, and we used the grill and kitchen appliances to make a great dinner one evening. We found the beds very comfortable, and did not miss air-conditioning because the evenings were so cool. We also enjoyed the older decor that give the house a country charm. The surrounding area was extremely quiet and peaceful, but very close to downtown Sonoma--everything we had hoped for. Janice was also an extremely attentive host. When the grill fuel tank needed refilling, she had it done with half an hour. She was happy to answer all our questions, offer suggestions, and make us as comfortable as possible.

Spacious, well-appointed, great kitchen, lovely views, gracious hosts!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of three and we stayed for three nights visiting family over the holiday weekend.

Booking, arrival, and check out were all very easy. Janice was out of town, so Tim greeted us when we arrived. There were some lovely welcoming gifts on arrival. The rental was in a beautiful location and we had everything we needed. We were even able to cook some of the side dishes for the Thanksgiving dinner and bring them over.

The wifi was so fast! There were places to work if you need to work while staying here.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to friends or relatives We would stay here again if the family guest rooms aren't available.

While we were here, we went to Jack London State Park and to Snoopy's Home Ice, aka Redwood Empire Ice Arena. There are many things to do within driving distance.

Nice house, well equipped with a great setting and location

  • 5 of 5

Our annual trip to the area and my daughter and I were delighted to find this house! Simple farm house style, but spacious and good floor plan, Janice has it equipped with everything we could have needed. The property is lovely, and 'edge of town' setting quiet and the perfect location for exploring the Valley and Sonoma area. Maybe you will hear the owl hooting at night! Thanks much Janice!
