Very nice area

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The home was very nice. Bathrooms could have been cleaner. It would have been nice to have a bathroom in the guest house. The pool and game room were a great addition. It was really great that we could bring our dog and entertain family in the area. Dan was very kind and helpful. Would stay again.

New Hudson, MI

The heated pool with the adjacent large covered patio are the standout features of this property.

  • 4 of 5

This property was just right for our family vacation that included 8 adults and our five grandchildren ages 3 through 9. The casual home, large property for play, and especially the pool and covered patio area provided a comfortable setting that was enjoyed immensely. Owner and caretaker very responsive.

Third time staying here... love it!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 has stayed here 3 times now over the last 6 years, perfect for a big family plus extended family. Kids LOVE the pool, great covered seating area for the grown-ups to be close by at all times. Loved walking the grounds, playing in the front yard, and visiting Long Lake nearby.

Wonderful Family Reunion and Gathering for our youngest's wedding.

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to celebrate family. The kids were busy with whiffle ball, soccer, jumping on the trampoline, sharing two bonfires and swimming a couple of days. Unfortunately, the pool was having its problems. The caretaker came almost every day to adjust the chemicals and get it back to order. He certainly knew what he was doing, but since I have a pool myself, I know this can be tricky sometimes. We had plenty of space for sleeping and playing and also rooms to go to if you wanted to have some space and peace and quiet. We made several meals together and enjoyed visiting local markets for strawberries and cherries (even purchased a cool cherry seeder) and met the Latvian folks down the road who sell Latvian baked goods once a week. What a treat! Our son came to the house on his wedding day to dress, so we were all together getting all dressed up for the big event. The only downside was when everyone left the next morning. That's hard on a mother's psyche.

A Great Fit for our Family

  • 4 of 5

We brought our family of 9 adults and 5 children (2 were infants, thanks Maggie for letting us go over the 12 person occupancy) for a three- night stay. The house and grounds were a very good fit for our family, as we had no agenda and basically just enjoyed hanging out and being together without needing to worry about bothering anyone else with our noisy crew. The pool was wonderful. The beds were super comfortable, with quality sheets which to me is a deal-breaker. Well-stocked kitchen, plenty of places to sit for meals. The house has a lot of "old-house" quirks (creaky floors, doors) which to me were expected and charming.

The only downer was the fact that there is no plumbing in the guest house (a half bath would be wonderful) which meant late-night trips down the stairs, outside, and back in to the main house for one of our couples.

Some things could have been a tad cleaner, and the yard was not mowed, but we arrived on a Thursday which apparently is not the norm, so we may have taken the caretakers by surprise. All in all we're a laid-back bunch and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We'd gladly come back another time - although by next year we will probably have exceeded the maximum capacity number.

The property was truly gorgeous. There was lots of places to walk around and explore.

  • 5 of 5

The house looked just like its pictures. We had plenty of room to gather with our family and to find our own spaces.Everything we could need was provided and we enjoyed cooking and playing in the pool. We had a wonderful vacation surrounded by lakes and rivers.
