Great country charm for a stay in Maine

  • 5 of 5

My wife, her sister and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary there August 18 thru the 25th. Enjoyed the country charm of the home. A really neat deck on the back side of the house is great place to enjoy a glass of wine and taking in the view of the property. Walked .7 mile behind the property to a beautiful bay. Easy drives to Castine, Acadia National park, Bar Harbor and other points of interest. A nice country landscape to enjoy.

All the amenities one would need for a weeks stay.

I will give this home an A+ for cleanliness, a place to kick back and have fun.

Great for sight seeing in the area!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the house for a week as a base for touring the area. Acadia was only about an hour away. It was easy to access - once we found it - it was dark when we arrived! The house had lots of room! I feel we weren't there long enough during the day to use it to it's full potential. The wash machine was a nice perk to have. The kitchen was stocked with what we needed for dishes and such. It was nice to have the 2 showers to get ready in the morning. Wifi was a little slow, but we weren't nearby a town so we expected that. We took the path to the beach access, but it was a little buggy when we went, so we didn't stay long down there. Wish we could have explored it a bit more. The owner was very helpful and responded within in a timely manner when we contacted him with any questions we had before and during our stay. Check out the Guildive Cruise in Castine. It was very enjoyable and the owners were super nice! It was a fun vacation - beautiful area! If we head back that way we'd check into the house again!

The Nicest Place We've Stayed in Maine

  • 5 of 5

This was by far one of the nicest places we've stayed in Maine. We loved the house, which was clean and full of comforts (washer & dryer, stove, dishes, pots and pans, spices, dishwasher, two bathrooms w/ showers, cable, etc.) and we were blown away by the grounds--lovely yard and field full of blueberries, not to mention a road through the woods leading to a small private beach. We would definitely come again. The only advice we'd give to future renters, and this only applies to the front bedroom off the highway, is that trucks rushing by in the early morning are a bit jarring; not an issue if you're an early riser or a heavy sleeper. The front room itself is lovely and very cool at night. All the rooms were wonderful. Thank you, Jeff, for a lovely vacation experience

A lovely old farmhouse!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much. The layout of the house is perfect for family activities as well quiet spots for reading. The kitchen is well equipped and the blueberry patch was a wonderful surprise.

A great Maine getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with our kids (ages 8 and 10) and loved it. The owner was helpful and the place perfect for our vacation. There's a wooded path down to the bay where we skipped rocks and collected shells and you can watch nature from the large sunroom. The house has a lot of charm, is well stocked for spending time relaxing and its quiet, off-the-beaten-path location allowed us proximity to Castine and Bar Harbor/Acadia. Would go back again in a heartbeat!
