Couldn't be happier with our stay at Casa Crema. Bruce, Alberto and their staff were prompt, courteous and friendly. We will definitely be staying with them again!

Wonderful Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough how relaxing and wonderful this vacation was for me. I went with the intentions of recharging, relaxing, doing some writing and overall enjoy some alone time. That all happened and then some. Bruce was quick to respond before I left on my vacation to answer any questions I had. I gave him a list of items I wanted stocked in the house upon arrival and was pleased to have them there! Alberto and his wife was super informative and accommodating to anything I needed while I was there. They showed me around the property, had Berna or Miguel take me into town or wherever I wanted to go. And the restaurants that Gloria recommended were delicious! The house was perfect for me and the bed was super comfortable. All in all, I am very pleased! The beach was nice and relaxing. Just what I needed! Thanks :)

Absolute Rain Forest Quiet along the Riviera Maya/Caribbean...

  • 5 of 5

We're still contemplating our amazing stay at this very quiet 1 bedroom house with glass- enclosed porch with futons for kids. For deep sleep it features lovely king sized master bed facing into surrounding lush bamboo gardens at the top of 100 acres of diligently protected eco jungle on the ocean... with a variety of animals making our acquaintance (including wild monkeys, baby sea turtles, deer and others I can't even name (fortunately no crocs or jaguars - though not far away). Mexican tile throughout, with convenience of full kitchen and washer-dryer for longer stays, with private path to the beach. Beautiful private white beach longer than a football field; perhaps the only private (and isolated) residence or two along a stretch of heaven populated by mega hotels (which you can't hear) - all just 20 minutes to the south of Playa Del Carmen (all the great restaurants, shopping, entertainment, etc. as you need it - though you have everything you need here. A great headquarters for investigating Mexico's friendliest destinations (we drove 1200 miles, visiting ancient ruins all the way to Palenque, then bused to San Cristobal). And a wonderful place to relax or write The host are fabulous, will arrange whatever you need, and committed to protecting not only their own but the created Yucatan environment as two of the regions most respected conservationist activists). Monkey's included.

Casa Crema is located just inside our property and adjacent to our manager's house. The gardens are lovely, with exotic fruit trees, coconut palms, and bamboo trees. You can walk or drive through our forest to our beach just five minutes drive away. We can supply you with kayaks, paddle boards, beach chairs...

Additional information about rental rates

Refundable Damage Deposit $500

We refund 90% of the rental if cancellations are made at least 30 days prior to arrival.

We prefer direct bank transfers, which are quite easy through VRBO/Homeaway. If you use a credit card, they assess a 2.9% credit card fee and we'll deduct it from the refund of the security deposit.

While most guests at Casa Crema rent a car, we are pleased to arrange airport pick-up - a driver will be there with your name on a a sign - and you can reimburse my partner later for this expense along with any excursions, massages and shopping. If you come by taxi, he can later arrange for you to rent a car in Playa del Carmen after you settle in at the house.

So your first day is more restful, we can pre-shop for you and stock the fridge with food and alcoholic beverages at cost +25% - just bring cash to reimburse him, or you can transfer funds via PayPal. Dollars are preferred so no need to get pesos. If you choose to exchange money, the best rate is with my partner or at the bank ATM in Playa del Carmen. Do not exchange money at the airport as it will cost you over 20% in the bid/ask spread. Pesos are generally needed only two places: to refuel the car as many gas stations do not have a phone line to process on-line payments, and for admission at the Mayan pyramids like Coba, Tulum and Chi-chen Itza.

While VISA and Mastercard are accepted everywhere in Mexico while AMEX is unpopular due to higher fees to the merchant.
