Born and raised in Stratford, I am a chef educator by training. Currently I teach children and adults how to grow and cook their own food, as well as lead Slow Food Youth in many activities related to food. An avid hiker, I can be found walking at the Upper Thames Conservation Authority, where I also own a cottage (which I stay at during the summer, which leaves the house free for you!)
Liz Mountain purchased this house in 2008
The house is so charming and convenient to downtown, I had to buy it!
The house is 140 years old and has been lovingly cared for so it still possesses many of its original architectural features. Whether it is the high baseboards, pine floors, original windows or large living room, the house is lovely, warm and inviting.
Very comfortable home in terms of scale, amenities, furnishings, and décor/artwork/books. Clean and shiny and well stocked. Great beds! Located one block north of the Avon River park system; and very close to the Festival Theater and to historic downtown. Plenty of parking. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this home to friends and relatives.
Charming, spacious cottage. Terrific location - very quiet, easy walking distance to all the theatres and to downtown. Extremely thoughtful host - providing coffee for the morning was a lovely touch given how late we arrived the previous evening. It was so nice to have the patio for relaxing. And...best cookbook collection ever! My daughter an I had so much fun browsing. We will definitely stay here on future visits to Stratford. It was so much nicer than a hotel in so many, many ways. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
I have stayed there and it is perfection in peacefulness, charm, location, and property layout and amazing hosts that have thought of everything for our enjoyment and convenience.
