Real Southern Charm Close to Everything!

Great home with beautiful grounds and gardens. Truly a lovely place to stay with very attentive host. Close to everything, but quiet, and beautiful neighborhood. Hard to even see the neighbors.

True English Garden and Grounds Truly Unbelievable

  • 5 of 5

we had the pleasure of staying over the UVA graduation weekend. 5 minutes from campus and in a beautiful country setting. the home was wonderfully appointed - true Virginia Colonial, with a basement suite plus 3 upstairs bedrooms. many relaxing rooms - study, formal living room, family room - as well as a formal dining room. the kitchen is connected to the stunning gardens. there are also open areas on the grounds with 50 odd 50' tall magnolia trees. I need to come back in April when the grounds are in full bloom (azalea, dogwood, etc). the roses were just starting to bloom. the living room has a magnificent deck for lounging with coffee, drinks and meals while looking out to the Shenandoah Mtns. add in our wonderful host Compton who was excellent to work with and helped us make our daughter's graduation a memorable event for our family as well as her roommates and their families. I highly recommend this property.

Even more beautiful in person

  • 5 of 5

We had a girls weekend with 8 women and could not have asked for a more wonderful home to stay in. From the property itself, to the roominess of the home to the wonderful outside patio, we took advantage of both the inside and the outside to enjoy our stay. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out but spend time all together whether we gathered in the dining room for meals, the sunroom for coffee or the back patio for cocktails.

We were centrally located to both the downtown walking area and the wineries we visited. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful and made for a wonderful place for us to take long walks.

Compton was wonderful to rent from as she communicated well with us about our visit and even met us at the house to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Charlottesville. Beautiful area, beautiful home.

Spacious and very accommodating!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful reunion weekend in Charlottesville and this home was perfect for all 10 of us! The owner's daughter met us at the house to show us around and was available by phone for any questions we had. There was more than enough room for all of us and we felt right at home. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and beautiful and a few of us enjoyed walking and exploring each morning before having breakfast in the beautiful gardens outside of the house! Downtown Charlottesville was an easy 10-15 minute drive. There is plenty to do nearby, including many vineyards, breweries and great hiking trails. We were sad to leave and will definitely be back in the future!
