Camp Bequantas Is A True Adirondack Gem That Our Family Is Excited To Share With The Public For The First Time. Constructed 95 Years Ago In The Traditional Adirondack Great Camp Style, There Are Two Large Common Areas- The Kitchen And Dining Cottage, And The Main Lodge. These Are Surrounded By Several Private Cottages. This Allows For Large Groups To Be Together, But Affords Privacy As Well.
There Is A Large Main Lodge, 'old Crow', Which Sleeps Six In Two Private Bedrooms. It Includes A Large Living Room, Gorgeous Field Stone Fire Place (handcrafted From Stones Gathered On The Property), And Spacious Screened Porch In Porch With Phenomenal Mountain Views. The Cabin Has A Full Bath With Outdoor Shower And Antique Fixtures. A Washer And Dryer Come In Handy For Extended Stays.
'crow Feast' Is The Spacious Kitchen And Dining Cabin. A Swiss Chalet Inspired Design, This Cabin Features 2 Large Dining Tables, A Full Kitchen, Huge Stone Fireplace, And Indoor Charcoal Barbecue. The Dining Room Has Large Picture Windows That Allow Breathtaking Views Of The Cascade Range. The Windows Themselves Were Saved From The Original Lake Placid Club Building. Another Dining Option Is To Move The Tables Outside To The Spacious Stone Patio And Enjoy The Fresh Air.
'crow Deluxe', Also Known As The Honeymoon Suite, Is A Charming Private Cottage That Sleeps Two. It Features A Double Bed, Private Bath With Antique Fixtures, A Sitting Area, Field Stone Fireplace, And Private Porch With Views Of The Great Range.
'little Crow' Is The 'newest' Cabin On The Property. It Was Lovingly Re-purposed From Two 95 Year Old Cabins By The Owner And A Local Artist. Your Guests Are Sure To Squabble Over Who Stays Here.- The Cabin Is Absolutely Charming And Features A Queen Sized Bed, A Child's Pullout Bed, Sitting Area, Private Porch, And Private Full Bath With Antique Fixtures.
'sister Crow' Is A Cute Little Bunkhouse Style Cabin In The Center Of The Compound That Sleeps Three. It Features A Twin Bed And Set Of Bunk Beds. This Has Traditionally Been A Favorite Of Children In Our Family, As They Feel Special To 'camp Out In Their Own Cabin', But Safe In The Knowledge That Mom And Dad Are Only A Few Feet Away.
For The Adventurous Members Of Your Party There Is A Lean-to (an Adirondack Tradition, A Three Sided Building For Camping In). This Sleeps 4 But Bring Your Sleeping Bags.

My Grandfather and Grandmother purchased the property as a summer home. Our friends and family have cherished it ever since. Jake and Erica Burns act as your hosts on behalf of our entire family. Our family is committed to stewardship of the land and is vested in the community. Originally from Syracuse, my mother and sister relocated here full time 10 years ago. Mom rekindled a childhood romance formed here on the mountain in the 60's and she, my stepfather, and sister founded three successful restaurant businesses in Lake Placid- Simply Gourmet, Big Mountain Deli and Creperie, and the 'dack Shack. A short time later my brother joined the team, and last year Erica and I came on board. It gives us all great pleasure to contribute to the local economy providing jobs and fresh, delicious food to our customers.
Jake and Erica Burns purchased this estate in 1944
Camp Bequantas is our families 'Tara' (pardon the Gone With The Wind reference, but I couldnt help it). It is a treasured member of our family that words can't quite describe. It has been a place to celebrate, share with friends, and occasionally circle the wagons. We are excited for others to share this special place, and have priced it aggressively. There is no comparable property on VRBO and at $35 per person per night, no better value.
I'm fairly certain we've said it all. Give us a call we'd love to have you!!
We loved our stay! Travelling with both adults and many little children, we quickly felt at home. The kids spent hours exploring the woods behind and playing with the neighbourhood dog, Hoover. The cabins are steeped in tradition and charm and the views are phenomenal. Jake and Erika were lovely hosts and we look forward to returning soon!
We booked this entire camp for a large group visiting from California for a wedding, and it was perfect for us. Jake and Erin were extremely nice and helpful. We only wished we had stayed longer! It's a short drive to Lake Placid and other surrounding towns. It's also close to some amazing hiking. The cabins are rustic, quaint, and very comfortable all at the same time. I highly recommend this stay if you're looking for a quiet get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
We were joined at camp again this year by friends of ours for a multifamily getaway. The cabins were great and the perfect setup for us. The kids all got to bunk together with their buddies and the parents could have a bit more privacy. The separate cabin with kitchen was perfect for those of us that woke up early and didn't want to disturb anyone else as well as those that stayed up late into the night visiting and playing cards. We enjoyed traveling into hiking trails and to Lake Placid to swim. But even better was the beauty of being together with friends and having our kids (ranged 1-11 yrs) hang out together exploring and playing with some level of autonomy. A WONDERFUL trip. Already gearing up to return next summer:)
We spent the week at this beautiful camp with our dear friends preparing for our wedding* on the adjacent property. The cabins were cozy and charming. Jake and Erica prepared for our stay by making beds with fresh linens and providing clean towels. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of warm blankets for chilly nights. On warm nights, we opened the windows and let the breeze blow through the window screens. The bathrooms were clean and I loved the freestanding tubs. The layout of the camp, with a central cooking and living cabin and five sleeping cabins dotting the hills, provided the right setting for connecting with friends and a chance for alone time. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals and there was a grill for outdoor cooking. The children loved running around the property and the adults loved the view, the campfires and the hidden hammock. There is nothing quite like watching a sunset or a storm from the screened in porch. Aside from the beauty of the space, the host, Jake, was an unbelievable support. He's friendly, down to earth and very helpful.
With plenty of great hikes and lakes nearby and Lake Placid just a 25 minute drive away, there's no place in the Adirondacks that I'd rather stay. We are all looking forward to an anniversary trip to Camp Bequantas!
*We are truly grateful to have had our wedding here. We held the ceremony in front of the main cabin with the mountains behind us. It was a magical day and we appreciate everything that the Burns family did to make the day amazing.
We liked the experience of staying in a historic family camp. We enjoy staying at non-traditional places like the cabins in the National Parks. The cabin we stayed in was not one of the renovated cabins. The renovated cabins are rustic and luxurious. Our unit was family clean but not could be improved with a good professional cleaning.
The village of Keane and local restaurants were an unexpected gem. Plenty of great hikes close by.
The view of the mountains was breathtaking. We would love to go back and bring friends and family to fill the entire camp. Jake was very helpful and his deli in Lake Placid is amazing!
This was a lovely place for our weekend trip to Keene for a wedding. The cabin was very comfortable, with a solid bed, great reading materials and a porch to hang out in. The bathroom was beautiful too. But my favorite part was the kitchen which is actually a separate cabin a short walk away. This a spacious kitchen with every tool you would want, copper pots and pans to cook in, and a view of the mountains from the dining area. I would come back just to cook in this dream kitchen again!
Jake was the most gracious host ever. He even drove my husband to town to pick up some groceries and printed out our tickets. The cabin is very private but if you need help of any kind, Jake and his family live nearby.
