Overview

About the property

Open single story floorplan with 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 baths and forest views

Emerald Point is an ideal getaway cabin in the quiet of the mountains. Located at the end of a cul-de-sac in a gated community the setting is quiet and private but still connected with phone, satellite TV, and the internet.

The house features a master suite with a Cal King Bed, jetted tub, double sinks, oversized shower, walk-in closet, and private deck. The second suite features a queen bed, with adjoining bath and the third bedroom has two twin beds and can share the queen suite bath or use the half bathroom. A den can also be used for overflow and has a sofa and mattress for unexpected guests. All rooms features generous closets.

The cabin features a single story with high cathedral ceilings and an open floor plan accommodating six in a casual style. The spacious kitchen is open to the dining and living area with easy access to the large deck perched in the trees with views down the ravine and a large gas grill. The living area is centered around an inset wood burning fireplace which keeps the main space beautifully warm in the winter.

The house also features an oversized two car garage and sunny laundry room so you can bring fewer suitcases for your getaway.

Walking from the house you can explore the groomed Gold Mountain trails or the logging roads in the forest where you can hike down to the Feather River to enjoy fishing for trout, bird watching or just an afternoon in nature. There are a couple of bikes available as well as horseshoes, frisbies and assorted balls.

About Bradley Cutler

The house is as eclectic as the owners from El Salvador and New England. A little latin and rustic tradition blended together. We currently live in the Sacramento area but find time to get away to the quiet of the sierra's with its crisp air and clear skies.

Bradley Cutler purchased this house in 2013

Why Bradley Cutler chose California

We loved the relaxing quality of the area and enjoyed many weekends before purchasing. If you like to hike, bike, cross country, fish, golf, or just enjoy the quiet, you'll love this retreat.

What makes this house unique

The one element that separates this place is the feeling when you're there that you are perched at the edge of the forest on the boundary with nature.

Four nights in paradise!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our visit at this beautiful home. We wanted a quiet place surrounded by trees with water nearby to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. We definitely found that and more. We woke up every day to the sound of Stellar Blue Jays and Robins. We like to cook and the kitchen is not only gorgeous it is stocked with everything you need. We are planning to go back in the Fall for a week since four days wasn't enough!

Dealing with the owner was a pleasure, he responds very quickly to our questions.

Peaceful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

There are many properties to choose from on VRBO, but one difference that is hard to reflect in the postings is the character and quality of the property owners.

Many places are rented by corporations or conglomerates, which leads to impersonal results and less tended to properties.

That is not the case with this rental! The owners are exceptional and ensure you have a wonderful experience.

I have vacationed here twice now and plan another golf trip again in the future.

Beautiful home and property = relaxing family weekend

  • 5 of 5

We had a great, relaxing time over MLK weekend. There was a lot of snow from the week's previous storms and made for a picturesque setting (though no problem getting to the property). Bradley was extremely helpful and very responsive. The home is very well kept, clean, and a great place to relax. It's very spacious house with a great kitchen. We enjoyed exploring the nearby small towns and look forward to visiting again.

A clean and beautiful cabin in the woods.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here and appreciated the comfort of the home’s open design. We also appreciated the exterior deck and the community’s dedication to low light pollution on clear nights when we could see shooting stars and the Milky Way. While we’re not ones to take advantage of the proximity to golf courses, the property’s ideal location near lakes and peaks satisfied our cravings for nature hiking. The town’s restaurants and ice cream are not far away.

Great house! Beautiful sorroundings

  • 4 of 5

Love, love, love this house. Price is good, location great, house is beautiful. We have stayed 4 times. The only thing I think could be better is that you have to bring your own sheets and towels. A house of this caliber and with $100 cleaning fee, it should be included. Also, air conditioning would be a plus.

Owner's Response: Our apologies but this idiosyncrasy is the result of our rural infrastructure that is strained by the limitations in the pumped septic system and offsite trash disposal that don't enjoy the capacities of more urban settings. We strive to keep the cabin exceptionally clean and well stocked to make up for those limitations we can't otherwise overcome. Thank for your understanding and hope to see you again.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautiful and wonderfully furnished and decorated. Even my teen boys fell in love with the place and wanted to move in to stay. The location is beautiful and the local towns were a joy to tour and visit.

The owner was great to work with and finding the place was a breeze. We would definitely rent this cabin again, but for longer next time. Blessings!

Car: necessary

Located ten minutes from Graeagle and ten minutes from Portola, the house is ideally located for hiking, fishing, mountain biking, swimming, and golf in the summer and snowshoeing, tubing, and cross country skiing in the winter.

Walk out the door and stroll along the Nakoma golf course or fish in the Feather River. The Nakoma resort is expanding in July this summer and will add Athletica, its recreational center for workouts, swimming, rock climbing and eating with a teen center and movie room.

The surrounding area is an outdoor paradise with six other local golf courses, numerous water falls and lakes including Gold Lake and Lake Davis just a few minutes drive away. Situated at 4800 foot elevation the cabin is also ideally suited for hiking and biking with numerous mapped trails nearby. In winter now shoeing and tubing are available at the resort.

If you don't feel like cooking the area supports many restaurants located on the resort or in the adjacent towns of Graeagle, Blairsden and Portola.

Portola has a fully staffed hospital open 24/7 with the capability of air transport to Reno.
