A great place for a mountain getaway!
We loved the beautiful cabin and the view of Flathead Lake was amazing! Many scenic towns and sights were conveniently close including Glacier National Park. Hope we can visit again soon!
Thanks, Hector and Jennie
Our family of 4 adults stayed her for a week in late June 2019. This house was perfect! The deck is amazing - we had coffee on the deck every morning and dinner on the deck in the evenings (when we weren't out and about). The view is beautiful. The house was the perfect size for us and had everything we needed. The location was right in between our two favorite places - Glacier National Park and the Bison Range. Highly recommend this house. You won't be disappointed!
Montana Family Vacation.
Wonderful cabin, beautiful views and everything you will need to enjoy your stay in Montana.
Comfortable home and breathtaking views made this vacation perfect
We rented this home so we could be near Glacier National Park and have beautiful views of the mountains and Flathead Lake. It was the perfect choice. The home is spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck in the early mornings to catch the sunrise over the mountains and lake. In the evenings we relaxed on the deck with our drinks, after a day of hiking, and appreciated the sounds of nature. The owner was responsive and the home was immaculate when we arrived. It really was the perfect fall getaway.
Nice cabin in the woods
My girlfriend and I stayed here in early September. The cabin is in really nice condition, and everything, including the kitchen, is very well stocked. I loved the spice drawer and all the cooking supplies. The extra propane tank for the grill was appreciated! The cabin feels pretty secluded, so it's perfect if you're looking for a lot of privacy. The wrap-around porch overlooks a gorgeous view of the lake. The owner was also very responsive and helpful.
There are a few little things worth noting that I wish were mentioned ahead of time. All of the doors to the cabin don't lock. The owner mentioned that it wouldn't be necessary to lock the doors when leaving, but for peace of mind, I would've preferred to have working locks. Also know that the cabin is pretty far from the lake, and it's not terribly easy driving up without a 4WD vehicle. Our rental car had a tough time getting up the steep gravel roads on the way up. Finally, I was kind of bummed to find out that the fireplace couldn't be used. To be fair, it wasn't listed under the amenities, but when we saw it in the pictures, we were looking forward to relaxing evenings by the fireplace. Overall, though, it's a beautiful cabin and we had a very nice stay here.
All the doors to the cabin lock but since some guests have trouble with it I told you not to lock it.
The cabin is exactly 2.5 miles up from the lake and I don't consider that far at all.
4 wheel drive is only necessary in the winter. Maybe your rental car just didn't have enough power.
I am sorry about the fireplace, however when you don't know the guest we don't allow them to use the fireplace. That's why we don't rent past the third week in September. However there are thermostats in every room to keep the cabin warm.
We had a wonderful time at the Cabin if you can call it that. We had planned on visiting Glacier but that was a bust because of fires. Hardly minded since there is lots to do nearby and relaxing at home wasn’t too bad a time either. Check out the fishing.
Big Mountain ski resort ( now known as Whitefish Mountain Resorts) is about 40 miles north in the town of Whitefish which also offers numerous fine dining establishments, one of a kind shops, cafes with fresh roasted coffee, bicycle rentals, art galleries and local brewed beer at Great Northern Brewing Co. For the golfer or hiker, Bigfork is on the northeast shore of Flathead Lake, offering the acclaimed Eagle Bend Golf Club and Jewel Basin hiking about 15 miles north east of Somers. For the hiker and sightseer, Glacier National Park is 'the crown jewel of the continent' about 50 miles northeast. Mission Mountain Winery is directly 20 miles south open May through October, with the wine tasting room open daily 10-5.
Bring your kayaks or canoes. The lake is excellent for paddling!
