Our neighborhood and street is considered urban "City" residential, near the Downtown area, with all the various sights and sounds of the City including, airplanes, occasional ambulance and fire engines.

We have enjoyed living in Golden Hill for over 15+ years in this 1907 Craftsman Historical Home; prior to buying in this neighborhood, we rented and fell in love with the community spirit that is Golden Hill.

Golden Hill is an Urban neighborhood in the Historical District of San Diego, California; just up the hill from downtown. It is a neighborhood in the true sense of the word; walk-able, friendly, restaurants, Farmers Market, Historical homes and a very central location for all the San Diego Must See's.

Very central location, easy access to all.

Auto access is direct from freeways 5 and 94, the major through streets and bus routes are Broadway (East and West), and 25th Street and 30th Street (North and South).

Completely renovated 1907 Historical Craftsman Home.

*The Golden Hill neighborhood is adjacent to the landing approach of the San Diego Airport; Airplane arrivals are throughout the day, sometimes busy and sometimes sporadic, night time arrivals are very sporadic. If you're sitting outside on our front porch or back patio you can't help but notice them.

**The interior of our home has been sound proofed as much if not more, as any home can be, with extra insulation, 5/8' drywall, dual pane windows and doors, tight window and door seals, all contributing to sound reduction.

My family of nine stayed here during a family reunion trip and it was just the best!! Athena-Rae and Bo have a fabulous home and are fabulous hosts. They make sure everything is perfect. It has all the comforts of home and then some!!! So glad we had the chance to stay at this truly wonderful home and to meet Athena-Rae and Bo!!

Great house in a cool neighborhood

Our family with 7 adults and 4 children stayed at this house for 5 nights. This house is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. Everything you could need or want is available for your stay. Lots of room for everyone and great outdoor space to hang out during the day or evenings. Street parking is a little hard to find so having the private drive for 3 or 4 vehicles is great. Located within close walking distance to Balboa park, a few restaurants, liquor store, a small grocery and a coffee shop. Easy access to downtown. The owners are great to work with. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable place in San Diego.

Beautiful home.

Really enjoyed our stay in Golden Hills. It is close to everything. Enjoyed the Mexican bakery and Humberto's. The house was amazing. It was fully furnished with an abundance of necessities. Athena-Rae responded immediately to any questions. I would definitely stay there again, and I highly recommend it as a place to stay. Lovely home.

In town for a family vacation and Athena-Rae & Bo made us feel welcome and comfortable in their beautiful home. And Golden Hill is fantastic. For a few days we got live like locals. It was great!

It was awesome! Great house, great location!

The house was really fantastic. Beautiful historic home. Great rooms, amazing back deck and patio. This house was so well thought through for everything you could possibly need / want! It was perfect for our 7 adults - everyone had their own bed and space. The 3 bathrooms were great and a tankless hot water heater kept us all happy with hot showers.

We spent so much of our time on the back deck and the gorgeous covered front porch. Athena and Bo have thought of everything and have a gem of a home. The location is also fab! Highly recommend Krakatoa Coffee Shop, Panchita Bakery, and Luigi's Pizza.

The only super tiny drawback is that the SanDiego airport flight path is near by and you do hear planes. But house is very well insulated and the sound is minor inside - plus planes aren't flying late or early that would keep you up. With the airport so close to downtown I would assume you probably hear planes anywhere in downtown SanDiego.

We would stay here again in a heart beat. We can't thank Athena and Bo enough for the perfect place, for our big birthday weekend!

Golden Hill is an Urban neighborhood of San Diego, California. It is located south of Balboa Park, north of Sherman Heights/Highway 94 (M. L. King, Jr. Freeway), and east of Downtown. Golden Hill is one of San Diego's most historic and architecturally eclectic zones, with many pre-1900 homes and apartments. This neighborhood is also in walking distance of Downtown, City College and much of Balboa Park. Auto access is direct from freeways 5 and 94, The major through streets and bus routes are Broadway (East and West), and 25th Street and 30th Street (North and South).

Golden Hill is home to Black Box Recording Studios, The Habitat Recording Studios, Los Reyes Mexican Food, Influx Cafe, Counterpoint, Turf Supper Club, Krakatoa & Pizzeria Luigi (which was featured on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives).

Golden Hill is also host to two outdoor concerts a year, the Golden Hill Block Party and Kate Sessions Fest. The Golden Hill Block Party happens the last Saturday prior to Halloween. In 2006, the Kate Sessions Fest made its debut in Golden Hill Park. Both outdoor concerts are free, all-ages events, organized by local artists and musicians, featuring local bands.

The $59.00 Property damage policy is REQUIRED on each stay, it will cover you up to $1500.00 in accidental / unintentional damage, there is NO deductible. We know accidents happen. The payment system will now state you can also pick a refundable damage deposit equal to the $1500.00 the property damage policy covers. Please do NOT select the $1500.00 to be charged to your card and added to your payments, this is not a hold placed on funds, it is a charge to your card and we only accept the $59.00 Policy. Thank you for your understanding, if you have any questions at the time of booking, please let me know. The $200.00 Refundable Deposit, is a "Security" deposit, as the $59.00 Property Damage protection does not cover any excessive cleaning/filth issues, unfortunately that is the sites wording and we are unable to edit their pre-set verbiage, when a quote is sent, it is listed as a "Security Deposit",the refund will be credited to whichever form of payment was used. We only use this sites secure payment system, HomeAway Pay. We do not accept payment information over the phone, we will send a secure link to this sites secure payment system. HomeAway Pay accepts credit / debit cards, and e-checks.

Please note- most Holiday's have a 4 night or more minimum night stay. We have received "Book It" requests where it has not picked up the 4 night minimum on a Holiday, we will adjust your request and make sure you still want to keep your reservation with a 4 night minimum VS or normal 3 night minimum. Special arrangements made for check-in's on Holidays: eg Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve or Day We have a minimum age requirement of 30 years of age or older

Owner's Cancellation Policy
