Lovely Cedar Log Cabin Home on seven acres with spacious covered front porch.
Welcome to Orcas Island an enchanting destination for a harmonious holiday. An island where the natural allure of a region rich with plush Evergreen forests, picturesque valleys, and panoramic vistas preserves a pastoral style of living. All the while, encompassed by the sights and sounds of the bountiful waters of the San Juan Islands.
Abandon the chaotic pace of life on the mainland and join us for a blissful hiatus. Summerset Hill is a splendid hand-crafted log home hewn and polished from Cedar trees on the seven acre property by local craftsmen. Comfortably furnished in the tradition of Vintage Farmhouse and well-appointed 'The Cabin' offers a grand open floor plan with full kitchen amenities, two spacious downstairs bedrooms, a cozy attic bedroom, and one full/two half baths readily accommodating up to six guests.
The large covered porch and open garden patio lend the perfect venue for Pacific North West outdoor dining rain or shine. The property is abundant with wildlife specifically; deer, eagles, owls, turkey hawks, and red-headed woodpeckers.
Thank you for considering Summerset Hill as your holiday home in the San Juan Islands.

About Tetsie Wong
We cherish family, friends, & sharing adventures with both. There is nothing we like more than whipping up delicious fresh foods for an evening of conversation & laughter. We enjoy the natural beauty of flora & fauna, sunsets & beaches, snow & springtime. Dividing our time between the Toronto area, Cottage country, & Orcas Island provides us the opportunity to partake in the activities we relish like boating, sailing, wake boarding, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, flying, snowmobiling, snowboarding, skiing, & attempting to surf. Travel and exploring new destinations, cultures, and culinary experiences are also on our list of priorities.

Charming rustic getaway on rural Orcas Island
This tastefully decorated cabin was the perfect size & configuration for our family during our recent 4-day Thanksgiving holiday. The 2 spacious downstairs bedrooms comfortably accommodated our 2 adult couples & the under eave upstairs room with 3 twin beds & a cozy alcove with table & chairs delighted the school aged girls. Each bedroom has, at least, a 2-piece bathroom (toilet & sink), including upstairs. The one full bath downstairs was shared by all.
Since I would be cooking Thanksgiving dinner here, it was important that the kitchen be fully equipped &, except for a few items, it was. The large refrigerator held all of the perishables & there were some empty shelves & drawers to stash my stuff so as not to get it mixed up with what was already there. I appreciated that the stove was gas & the oven full size. There was also a largish table & a long island that served as spacious prep & serving areas. The table comfortably fit the 6 of us. We could not, however, get the dishwasher to work properly (it left everything covered in grease with the soap only partially dissolved) & had to wash everything by hand. There was no garbage disposal (probably due to being on a septic system), which was no big deal. I noticed the chef's knives were dull, also not a big deal since I always bring mine with me. Otherwise the kitchen was well stocked with quality dishes, glassware, cutlery, utensils, pots & pans, & several spices.
Our dog even appreciated the thoughtful touches of dog beds in each of the downstairs bedrooms, non-slip stainless steel food & water bowls, treats, & even a tennis ball. There were plenty of nice fluffy towels for all the guests &, my favorite touch, boxes of Kleenex in all the bathrooms!
The flat screen TV in the living area, openly adjacent to the kitchen, provided access to Pandora, Netflix, & You Tube. We probably would have stayed another night if we had been able to watch the Apple Cup on Saturday, but made it home just in time to see it anyway. (Go Huskies!) Since we have a tradition of watching certain movies over Thanksgiving, & there was no DVD player, we had to bring & connect our own - again, no biggie. The furnished front porch made for enjoyable deer watching. It can get a bit noisy from the traffic leaving the ferry terminal, but the inside of the cabin is well sound proofed. Looking forward to returning, perhaps in the late spring, to participate in goat yoga, farm tours, & other island activities. Great hospitality!
Great house. Quiet property.
The house is as described on a very pretty and quiet setting close to the ferry and to East Sound. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Even returned by mail an item we left behind.
The kitchen is very well stocked - perfect for cooking family meals. The wifi signal was good for smart phone apps, but inconsistent on TV apps. We weren't too interested in watching TV, so this wasn't an issue for us. Overall, a lovely stay.
very cozy and comfortable cabin
This is well maintained and cared for cabin located close to the Turtleback Mountain trails. It is also very close to the ferry. 10 minutes to Eastsound and a couple hundred feet back from the road so traffic noise is modest. The front porch is a great place to lounge and the inside of the cabin is very cozy. Tetsie is very helpful - we were getting in late so she had the fire going and lights on for us and we felt very welcomed.
Thank you for your very kind review of the cabin. I am glad you enjoyed your stay & made the most of the beautiful Turtleback Trails.
Best sunset spot on Orcas!
Hope to have you back soon.
We arrived to a very well kept and inviting cabin with plenty of room for five and a dog. Our family vacay started in Anacortes then to Orcas island and our beautiful home away from home. Cabin was well appointed and very clean (with the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in). Location was great! Thank you for making our time on the island so memorable!
Dear John & family,
I appreciate your thoughtful review of the cabin. I am grateful you were very pleased, comfortable, & found it a wonderful home away from home for your family vacation on Orcas.
I am glad I was able to meet your delightful family.
Looking forward to your return visit.

It's hard to imagine a get-away more perfect or a host more gracious. Simply put, Rent This Cabin! It is a true gem in a beautiful place.
Dear Ron & family,
What a endearing & delightful review, thank you so much! I am so pleased you enjoyed the cabin & all the details I have tried to incorporate to provide a wonderful experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you & your wife. You have a lovely family, it was a pleasure being your hostess.
Hope to see you again soon.
Lovely cabin, great property
We had a wonderful stay at the log cabin. Tetsie was a gracious host and the house had everything we needed--fully stocked kitchen, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and more. It was perfect for us in so many ways. Our kids loved playing on the grass outside. Tetsie clearly pays attention to the smaller details of what makes a place comfortable to stay and is committed to giving her guests the best possible vacation rental. We would definitely stay here again.
In addition, the cabin is really close to the ferry which made arrival and departure super easy. The only thing I would note is that the cabin is a short car drive to the other towns (i.e. you can't easily walk to shops, restaurants, etc., if that is what you are looking for).
Dear Kelsey & family,
I so appreciate your excellent review of the cabin & your gracious words regarding my efforts to provide a very comfortable home for my guests. Thank you for noticing the little details & for taking your time to share your experience with other families.
I am grateful you all enjoyed your family holiday on Orcas & your stay in the cabin.
Looking forward to seeing you all again.
