About ann holladay

We built this home in 1990 and have added on a couple of times in the last 8 years. Our family, three sons and many friends have loved this special spot for weekends and summers for over 20 years now:many wonderful memories have been created catching crabs, boating, biking and long walks along private country roads.simply watching the most spectacular sunsets is reason enough to come!

ann holladay purchased this apartment in 1990

Why ann holladay chose Royal Oak

my husband grew up in Baltimore and spent summers around the chesapeake,so after getting married in 1979,we started visiting this well familiar area and fell in love with this particular spot.We loved the expansive views over Broad Creek with the most amazing sunsets night after night. We have enjoyed many family and individual bike outings, often to Oxford via the Bellevue ferry and lunch, dinner and shopping is a short distance away, with many lovely offerings no matter what direction you go.

What makes this apartment unique

we built our home around the sensational views of expansive water and huge horizons showcasing the most incredible sunsets throughout the year. One can sit and simply look at the glistening water, the expansive starry sky,the ospreys building their nest while listening to the songs of the various birds and other wildlife. It's wonderful to be away but yet so close to excellent restaurants and local tourist attractions ;to have the choice of going out or staying in and grilling and eating in the gazebo and then watching a movie(wonderful assortment provided!)and ending the night under the stars!Did I mention the incredible sunsets??????:)

Relaxing Place to Get Away from Pressures of Ironman Competition!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this apartment during our Ironman Adventure in October 2017. Our spouses used the kayaks and checked out all the lovely homes in the area. We took a swim at high tide and saw Maryland Crab swimming around. My husband caught 3 crab using chicken necks in the trap Ann provided. We rode our bikes on Deep Neck Road and saw turkeys. It was very relaxing. We didn't get cell service right on property. We could near it and we had access to wifi. The property served our needs. I would recommend it.

Perfect weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

The house and property were perfect for our girls weekend. With the air mattresses we were able to fit 6. The sunset views are stunning. Only 15 minutes to St. Michael's for shopping, restaurants and activities, but we loved the house so much we spent more time there than we did in St. Michaels! Thank you, Ann!

The Charming Bay House

  • 3 of 5

This property has a lovely, charming exterior and a fabulous view of the Chesapeake Bay. Wildlife abounds. We felt very welcomed as we were met with complementary banana bread which was welcomed Saturday morning. We loved sitting outside enjoying the expansive viiew. Unfortunately the property seems tired and cluttered with others' possessions. It was very clean but lacks strong wifi. We have AT&T phone service which did not work at the property at all, nor did the Direct TV. The experience became isolating since we were already in a remote spot miles from town. We wanted to ride bikes but the tires were flat which made us suspicious of the boats. Future guests should do their research!

Owner's Response: I am very sorry about Morningstar not being all you had expected . I will certainly check out, and hopefully solve, the Internet and tv issue. Unfortunately, the bike tires lose air quickly when the weather changes so I have included a pump in the shed. Sincere apologies, Ann.

Better than we could have imagined!

  • 5 of 5

This guest house is absolutely amazing! Full 2 beds and baths upstairs were comfortable and extremely clean. The bathrooms were even equipped with blow dryers and toiletries. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed - we didn't have to bring anything but food! The best part was the outside property...the most incredible views! The photos do not do this property justice.

I would say the only downside is that you're 10 minutes drive to anything, but realistically once you're there, you won't want to leave anyway!!!

Overall, if you're looking for a rental on the Eastern Shore, I highly recommend this one - it's perfection.

Amazing experience

  • 5 of 5

Ann's house is a cut above the rest. We travel often and prefer to rent houses, and her property is well appointed, immaculately maintained and has all the amenities for a great stay. Lastly, Ann herself is just a wonderful person- warm, caring and very welcoming. We loved being her guests and plan to visit her soon!
