Nice place in a very convenient location

  • 4 of 5

My family of 4 had a very nice time in this cottage. It's pretty simple (I'm from Louisiana, and it reminded me of a hunting/fishing camp...), but absolutely fit the bill for a vacation where most of your time will be spent outdoors anyway. The cabin was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The owner is very friendly and was available for any questions we had. Note that the washer/dryer is in one of the bedrooms, so you'll need to take that into account when doing laundry. Also, like many place in Estes, it is not air conditioned - and while not a problem in the later evening or mornings, it was definitely warm in the afternoons (we were there in late July).

The location is very convenient to RMNP as well as most anything we wanted to do in town (everything in town was about 10 minutes away at most, but usually even closer). We were able to get around without getting tied up in mid-town traffic. That said, it's not on the main drag, and we also had some elk wander through the back yard, which was pretty cool. So, while part of a neighborhood, it felt a little out of the way as well.

All in all, a very good value compared to many higher-priced options in this area.
