About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 9

A cozy beach vacation awaits you in this Roackaway Beach vacation home with dog-friendly accommodations, a private hot tub, and access to a private stretch of beach.

The beach is just a short walk away down a private path. Town is a little over a mile away - take your morning walk along the beach to grab a bite to eat or peruse one of the local boutiques.

This adorable beach cottage has the classic beach shack exterior with an updated, warm interior that is inviting to all.

Indoor amenities include board games, WiFi, cable, a DVD player with a small movie selection, and an iPod dock. Get cozy on the corner sofa, or set up a board game at the dining table.

The kitchen has been updated with stainless steel appliances while maintaining much of its original 1920's design. There's plenty of room at the indoor dining table with a leaf, or outside on the picnic table. Take a soak in the hot tub, or let kids and dogs loose on the lawn while you lounge on the deck (up to four small dogs may join you for a small nightly fee).

This three-bedroom, one-bathroom home can sleep nine people. Two main-floor bedrooms have queen beds. One of the bedrooms has an open-loft area that has a queen sofa bed and a twin day bed, making it a great room for a family unit to share. The bathroom has an antique clawfoot tub!

This home also includes a private washer/dryer to keep the sand and grass stains at bay!

It's easy to spend all day on the beach here as you hunt for agates and seashells. Or take to the water for a day of crabbing or sea kayaking. Take a ride on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad, or a day trip to Tillamook for a tour of the famous cheese factory.

This beach cottage is just what you need to experience the beauty of the Northern Oregon Coast - book today!

Family Vacation Bliss!

  • 5 of 5

We were lucky enough to stay at this darling home for our first REAL family vacation, and it did not disappoint! We have four young children and a dog, and were so pleasantly surprised at how conducive the home was to a large family. Everything was clean and organized, and the decor was homey and cheerful. We really could not have been happier in this beautiful, ocean-front rental home (the beach is SO close and accessible!!) and we created some incredibly special memories here that will undoubtedly last a lifetime!

Perfect location, clean, and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed in a lot of rental homes through my travels, and this was one of the cleanest, well-organized, location-perfect homes I've had the pleasure to stay at. I was with with my husband, two kids (4 and 7) and parents. The house was comfortable and CLEAN. The beach is straight out the back door and opens up to a nice quiet section of Rockaway Beach. Our stay was lovely and we'll plan to return as soon as we can.

Pretty much exactly what you would expect from the pictures

  • 5 of 5

We stayed three nights and really loved this little place. The house is very charming and the decor fits perfectly in it's beach setting. The house was very clean when we arrived. There was plenty of clean dishes and you have pretty much everything you would need to prepare most meals in terms of cooking utensils (pots, pans, measuring cups, silverware, cutlery, etc.). This house, however, does not have a dishwasher, so if you plan on eating a lot of meals in the home and do not feel like doing a lot of dishes, I would bring paper plates and plastic cups.

This place does have a washer and dryer and was stocked with several pods so that we could do multiple loads of laundry (this was our last stop on a long trip).

The views from the house are pretty good. From the downstairs dining area and family room, you have partially obstructed views of the beach. There are several large bushes that obstruct the view. From upstairs, the view is better, but chances are you will not be spending much time upstairs. Regardless, there is a path that leads you directly to the beach in about 15 -20 steps, and the beach itself is outstanding, though windy and cold, especially in the afternoon.

The few critiques I would have of this house are as follows:

1) The walls are thin. The one bathroom is wedged right in between one of the bedrooms and the family room and you can hear a little bit more than you'd probably like to.

2) The water pressure in the shower is not great and the clawfoot tub/shower is a bit awkward to use (the shower curtains that wrap around the shower constantly invade your space while showering)

3) The door handles are old and take some wiggling to get them to latch

4) the carpet in the second bedroom and adjoining stairs and upstairs probably is ready to be replaced.

By all means, none of this stuff takes away from the charm and enjoyment this place brings. It definitely was a memorable place and one of our favorite stays on our tour of Oregon.

Owner's Response: We are delighted to see this guest loved this home! The home is older, so it does have quirks like thin walls and old doors, but everything works as it should. Thanks!

A lovely rental house on the Oregon coast

  • 5 of 5

We had a delightful stay at this house. The location was amazing! So close to the beach and a hot tub just steps away. The house is the perfect size--not to large but still gives you enough room. I am so glad we stayed here. I wish we could have stayed longer!
