Recent stay

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at 240 Bristlecone with our two dogs. The place was clean and the neighborhood peaceful and quiet. The location was close to Tahoe City and the beach. We had a great weeks stay. We had to call Jay the property manager about the fireplace and he responded in a timely manner..Thanks so much!

Beautiful Cabin turned nightmare...Non-stop Blaring alarms at 3am and HORRIBLE customer service!

  • 1 of 5

This cabin seemed perfect - super close to the dog beach, beautiful scenery, plenty of beds and space and lots of extras throughout. We were already talking about renting this place again next year...until our last night.

A little before 3am, a BLARING alarm went off. Then the smoke detector started "chirping". Chirping is annoying but not horrible so we went back to bed. Then the alarm BLARED again. AND AGAIN. AND AGAIN. We had 6 little kids and the blaring was so loud that it not only woke them up but scared them every time it went off. Crying kids and freaked out dog is not fun at 3am. We searched the house for replacement batteries and found two - of which neither worked. We called the 24 hour line multiple times with no answer. We left a message on the manager's line with no response. We started googling solutions as our whole house was in an uproar and the BLARING alarms were throughout the entire house. In a last attempt we tried the 24 hour line again and this time Sandy answered. She could hear the alarms blaring on the other line and said she would call/text Jay (the manager) about the problem and give us a call back. She called back saying he didn't answer and she started offering up google solutions (which we had already tried). Eventually one of our house members figured out how to stop the alarms after 4am and we tried putting everyone back to sleep.

The blaring alarms completely ruined our last night in the cabin and our last day in Tahoe - anyone with kids under 8 who were woken up and scared in the middle of the night understands. We were told Jay would give us a call but we never received one. We called him and he brushed the whole thing off as a small maintenance issue and asked if someone was there yet (this was about 10am - when we were leaving). 1) Had we not figured out on our own how to get the alarms to stop, they would have been BLARING from 3AM until 10AM? 2) When there is a major issue, good customer service deals with it right away and doesn't wait until AFTER the guest checks out!

Jay talked about a possible partial refund and said he'd call us back. He never did. We left multiple messages for him with no response. The cabin and location was beautiful but our stay was a NIGHTMARE due to HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and BLARING ALARMS. It appears that if you don't run into any problems, this place is great - but if you do have an issue it turns into a nightmare due to bad customer service...

Perfectly relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

Family friendly and relaxing. Room to stretch out and room to be together. The kitchen was perfect for preparing meals. The grill was great for barbecuing. Clean and VERY organized. Kids loved their rooms, adults loved theirs. Bathrooms were big and accommodating. Everything was well stocked. Would love to visit this house again. Great memories made.

Lovely, family friendly and spacious

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time here. We'd love to return every summer and holiday. My kids loved the kids rooms. The neighborhood was quiet and the ambience relaxing. Master bedroom and bath were perfect. Kitchen was perfect and updated and well stocked. Plenty of room for everyone. It's dog-friendly but doesn't have any kind of odor. Perfect choice for a week or weekend away.

Impromptu family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We decided to get out of the heat of the valley and come to Tahoe at the very last minuet. This cabin was available the days we wanted to come....so I rented it very quickly and what a gem we found.....walking distance to the lake and cycling distance to Tahoe City and the bike trail. There were 6 of us and it was very comfortable. Nice quite neighborhood and well stocked. We will be back for sure!

The house was very clean and is in a great location. Great design for large groups. It snowed in June. It was a pleasant surprise. I would come back again!
