Great, comfortable location for both Mendocino and Fort Bragg

 • 4 of 5

I am always happy to find a well-kept pleasant home that allows pets. We were two couples and one small dog. The house was in a nice location in an area with good separation between houses that I had never seen despite many trips to the Fort Bragg area. There were two deer in the yard when we arrived and they returned each evening. There was a small herd of 7 deer that passed by as well. And a flock of huge turkeys! You can see the ocean and hear the breaking waves and barking sea lions from the house. It was just a short walk to the headlands and a magnificent ocean view. In the other direction you find Casper State Beach with surfers and waders enjoying the sandy beach. The house has two living areas with a bed, bath, and sitting room upstairs and down...good for sharing. The upstairs living room was bright and sunny with a nice view. The kitchen was well equipped and would be good for a longer stay. The most difficult thing was finding the house. The street numbers are difficult to see (and we arrived in the daylight). The blue door in the picture faces away from the street so does not help. The front of the house looks more like a wall of glass when you drive by. Some renters are not picking up after their pets, or maybe there are coyotes passing by. In any case, the situation should be corrected. Overall, very enjoyable and I appreciated being able to stay here. Thanks to the owners.

A great place to stay in any season

 • 5 of 5

This house is just perfect for two couples because each couple can occupy an entire floor yet come together easily. We stayed for a week in January and will definitely come back again! The location is great -- just a few miles from Fort Bragg or Mendocino, but located on a quiet, spacious street with huge lots. At night, you can see the Pt. Cabrillo lighthouse beam as it revolves. From the house, you can walk down to the bluffs to climb on rocks at low tide or just watch for whales and take in the view. The house has all the amenities, plenty of room, a nice well-stocked kitchen, and lots of deck-space should you want to spend time outside. The house is obviously well cared and much loved by the owners, and I think that really makes a difference in a vacation rental.

An ideal home in a safe and pretty location

 • 5 of 5

We were inspired to stay in this lovely home with so many big windows with great views of the ocean. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare our own meals. We especially liked the second floor room with the telescope - it was cozy and had the best views. Thank you!

About Vacasa, CA - Northern California Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental managementthings like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a websitecould be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
