About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 6

Please Note: Due to the nature of the home, we are unable to accommodate children under 12.

This unique, dog-friendly Elk vacation rental with ocean views, located about three hours north of San Francisco, will soothe your spirit and satisfy your craving for a relaxing beach getaway. Enjoy a hot soak in the private hot tub after a long day on the shore, then snuggle up in the cozy living room complete with a toasty fireplace and warm-toned recycled barn wood walls.

You'll be just a few minute's drive to the shore and close to the delta of the Navarro River. Tucked into the trees, you'll feel like you're away from it all yet you won't be far from the charming downtown Elk where you can luxuriate at the day spa or enjoy a tasty meal at one of the popular restaurants. Of course, you'll only be about 20 minutes away from Mendocino where you'll find even more options.

Inside this rustic cabin, you'll find charming touches throughout. The living room has a big picture window with ocean views, a wood-burning fireplace and a flat screen TV complete with premium cable and a DVD player. You'll even have WiFi access for keeping up with friends back home. And you could even bring a few dogs (though a small nightly pet fee applies and there is a weight limit of 75 pounds).

In the galley kitchen, right off of the living room, you'll have all the necessities needed to cook up a big breakfast of steak and eggs or a simple lunch with homemade soup and salad. If you you decide to enjoy the warm summer nights outside on the patio, use the charcoal grill for a meal of burgers and hot dogs.

At night, take advantage of one of the two comfortable bedrooms, one with a king-sided bed and the other with a queen. This house also has one full bathroom with a stand-up shower as well as a half-bath. And for keeping everyone clean and dry, there's even a washer and dryer.

The Safe at Anchor home is a great space to call home for a few days. Lounge on the deck and watch the sunset, and you will begin to feel like yourself again! Why not escape the stresses of daily life and book this Elk cottage today.

About Vacasa, CA - Northern California Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental managementthings like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Looking out the windows and seeing the Pacific Ocean and the Navarro River from the same spot blew me away. Wonderful property for a weekend getaway! Will definitely return!

Enjoyed our time

 • 4 of 5

Enjoyed our time at this cozy comfortabel cabin in the woods. Beautiful views from the hot tub and convenient location for exploring the area. Well stocked with books, CDs and music. We were disappointed in there being no internet in spite of the advertising, but a great place to unwind and explore the area.

Charming Escape!

 • 4 of 5

We were celebrating our 35th anniversary and the cabin was absolutely perfect for our 4 day getaway to the Mendocino area! We spent our days exploring the coast, hiking the area of the Cabrillo lighthouse to the beautiful botanical gardens with paths leading out to the majestic headlands and ocean. The evenings were spent relaxing by the fire with a local vineyard wine, it was wonderful. Thank you and we would love to come again! Our golden retriever, Finnigan, agrees! Anniversary Getaway

 • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Safe At Anchor. The location is amazing and it was nice to relax and get away from our normal lives for a week, but like Cinderella the clock struck midnight and we had to leave way too soon. We highly recommend a stay at Safe At Anchor if you are looking for some peace and quiet and being away from the crowds. The beach is near by and you are a mile away from the Navarro Red Woods so there is plenty to do and see.

Total relaxation

 • 5 of 5

The tucked away location and the view can't be beat! This cabin has all the amenities you will need and then some.

Enjoyed sitting on the front deck and watching the bunnies and other wild life. The view from the hot tub is amazing.

Definitely will be coming back!
