Escape to the privacy, comfort, sweeping views, and unique charm of our two-bedroom Stowe home. Just ten minutes from Stowe village and fifteen minutes from Stowe Mountain Resort and Trapp Family Lodge, you'll find everything you need for your adventurous or relaxing getaway to the Green Mountains.
Balancing bright, modern colors with rustic beams preserved from the original structure, this home is a labor of love with personal touches, family pieces, and art acquired over generations and world travels. Large windows in the kitchen bring the view indoor and the morning sunrise is breathtaking. Light pours into the library where you can relax with a selection from our extensive collection of books, enjoy music through the surround sound system, or watch movies or television on the flat screen TV either via satellite or DVD. Wifi is available throughout the house and there are desks in both of the upstairs bedrooms and in the library which can be closed off for privacy from the remainder of the living space via the pocket doors.
The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and serving ware, dishes, and glasses, as well as a coffee maker and espresso machine. Cooks will enjoy the Viking stove and open floor plan, and breakfast bar and stools that allow for gatherings and entertaining.
The living room has a working wood-burning fireplace for cozy evenings. Both summer dining and sleeping can be enjoyed on the screened porch that also has a full-sized futon bed.
Furnishings are a beautiful blend of antiques, family heirlooms, custom-commissioned pieces, Vermont artisan creations, and comfortable favorites.
The second floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, a desk, well-stocked book shelves, and closet space and the second with a double bed, closet space, and a small writing desk. A full bath, stocked with towels and linens, is also on the second floor.
Outside there are 15 acres of land to enjoy, as well as a five-person Bullfrog spa and a propane grill that is direct-piped the home's propane supply so you'll never run out. On warm days, the large fieldstone patio and garden is perfect for relaxing, reading, enjoying a meal, or napping in the solitude.
There is a powder room on the house's main floor and for your convenience, a full washer and dryer are available for use in the finished basement.
We spent two weeks at this wonderful house and could not have been more pleased. It felt as if we were staying at the house of a friend who happened to have exquisite taste! The house is beautifully furnished - gourmet kitchen, lovely dishes and silverware, interesting art on the walls, and a yard that was spectacular with fall foliage. The house was very close to Stowe village and to hiking trails, which was our primary reason for going there. The owner was very responsive and easy to reach. I can not imagine having a better place to stay!
