Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park: Grand Lake is quaint village on the shores of Colorado's largest natural lake and the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. With Shadow Mountain Lake & Lake Granby there is more than 150 miles of scenic shoreline to explore, hike or fish. The Grand Lake area has plenty to do including: boating, sailing, fishing, hiking, golfing, hot sulpher springs, shopping, live theater or just enjoying the warm sunny days and cool evenings in the summer. In the winter you can enjoy snowmobiling, cross country & down hill skiing, hot springs, snow shoeing, sleigh rides, dog sled rides & sledding. In the fall you will appreciate the smaller crowds & the aspen leaves that turn a golden yellow & great wildlife viewing as the elk & moose make their way down from the mountains. You can also admire the elk bugling/mating season – simply a must see/hear!
In the winter you need 4WD or AWD to get up the hill to the cabin.

So beautiful, relaxing, and exciting!!!!
I really enjoyed the view from the porches. The cabin was prestige, and completely set up for the perfect family vacation.
We really enjoyed our stay. Hope to be back soon.
My husband, myself, and my parents stayed here to go snowmobiling through the Rocky Mountain National Park, and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. This cabin has such stunning views that you just want to take a hot cup of hot chocolate and go stand on the balcony in the cold to soak it all in. We couldn't get over how fully stocked the kitchen was with appliances and cookware, and we also enjoyed having the Wii to play some games on. I also can't say enough about how clean the whole place was. It definitely made us feel right at home. My family and I will absolutely come back to stay in the future. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful home, it was just what we needed to relax and enjoy some family time.

Beyond my expectations.
This was our first time renting property for a vacation so we did not know what to expect. This cabin was beautiful and beyond any expectations we could have had. The 2 1/2 drive there from the Denver International Airport was heavenly and scary because I have never encountered any roads like those mountains and there was a snow storm, but thankfully my husband is a truck driver. You will definitely do better with renting a 4WD or AWD vehicle. We rented a Kia Sorento which was a life saver and did things that I truly never thought it was capable of. The people were friendly. The winter view was awesome and we have already decided that we will return for the summer view. Tim and Kim have a wonderful cabin that is well kept and inviting. It was our second trip to Colorado (first one to the mountains) and also made us have a third conversation about possibly relocating to this awesome state. There are so many wonderful things that I could say about this cabin, but what I want to say most is go for it; you will not be disappointed. One word of advice is that if you are not truly looking for an out of the way experience this is probably not the place for you because the nearest Target is almost an hour away. Pack anything you think that you will want / need or pick it up on the way in, that way you save time to experience the activities and the community in Grand Lake.
Happy you found Lazy Bear cabin both beautiful and beyond your expectations!! Yes the nearest big box store is almost an hour away but Grand Lake has a small grocery store, a liquor store and just 15 minutes to a Dollar General & a big grocery store - City Market/King Soopers/Starbucks. Hoping you can make it back in the summer!
Great views great location!
Great place. Very clean. Great hiking trails 5 mins away!
Found the place at night after passing it up. The directions said “3 miles up road’ but that’s not correct.
Glad you liked the location & found it very clean! Hope you can come back again! The directions say .3 miles - probably a good idea for me to emphasize that point of the point 3 - because as you know the road does not even go 3 miles! I will change that in my directions today.
Excellent views and accommodations!
We had a fantastic time and our location in this cabin added to the trip. No hassles with the best views and just about anything you need but hate to buy on a 4 day trip.
