Bienvenue à Cobble Hill, one of New York City's most European-feeling enclaves. Our custom-appointed, 19th-century brownstone is surrounded by a neighborhood that is both quaint—this is a landmarked historical district of townhouses, trees and parks—and vibrant, with new artisan boutiques, restaurants, coffeeshops and bars sprouting up seemingly every day. In one direction, you have famous Smith Street, with its nightlife and scene-making, in the other, the stunning, harborside Brooklyn Bridge Park, with its green spaces for walking, biking or lolling about, its ferry to Governor's Island, Sunday food-fair and jaw-dropping views of the Manhattan skyline. Manhattan itself is an eight-minute walk to the subway and two stops away—or an easy stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge.
Our home is the extensively-renovated owners' duplex of our brownstone townhouse, offering two big, high-ceilinged bedrooms upstairs, with a third bedroom possibility in the downstairs sunroom. There are three full, custom-tiled bathrooms, a cook's kitchen with stainless-steel Viking appliances and a leafy, private garden that feels miles away from the city.
