Overview

About the property

This paradise is in the hills above the Napa Valley’s Wine Country

This paradise in the hills above the Napa Valley’s Wine Country is the perfect retreat for every group. Until now, it has been used as a family retreat and has housed winery events. The huge front deck overlooks the entire Napa Valley, reaching as far as Mount Diablo on especially clear days. Each bedroom has windows and views that will make you weak in the knees. We have been staying up there for 10+ years and the experience still takes our breaths away.

Situated on a working vineyard, the 40-acre property stays warm in the evenings, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful pool and grill late into the evenings. You will have access to miles and miles of hiking trails, and will most likely never see another person for hours!

There is an organic garden with fresh herbs and flowers. A true chefs kitchen with an 8-burner range and two ovens makes cooking easy and accessible, the way it should be.

Secluded, but truly only 20 minutes into the heart of the Napa Valley.

As a family, we have named this place Rattlesnake Ridge or R2 for short, but I decided against using that title as it can be misleading. There are no Rattlesnakes! The view from the deck looks out over a protected, undeveloped land trust called Rattlesnake Ridge and it just seemed to stick!

This house has the power to erase all tension, you just wait and see! It's truly quiet and gives so much to whomever stays there. Come experience for yourself!

What makes this house unique

No where else can you experience the wine country from such an incredible vantage point. You are only a 20 min drive from downtown Saint Helena and will pass many working vineyards and wineries on the way! Not to mention you will be staying on a 75 acre working vineyard! The hiking is spectacular and so is just relaxing by the pool. You will not find a better way to experience the wine country!

This home is AMAZING!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here back in March (alittle late on my review) and absolutely loved it. The pictures really don't give it any justice. I spent my birthday weekend here with a group of 9 people and we all fit very comfortably with room to spare. Savannah was an absolute pleasure to work with and very attentive. If there was anything wrong she had someone come over ASAP to have it fixed. All I can say is if your looking for a place in Napa, this is the place to stay. The house is beautiful and the view is stunning.

On top of the world!

  • 5 of 5

Savannah has a beautiful home with breathtaking views. We were lucky to stay a long weekend with three couples and there was PLENTY of space. We easily would have been very comfortable with one or two more. As great as the house looks on the website, the pictures don't do it justice. A world class view with a very comfortable home. Would seriously recommend others to stay here. Only potential drawback is that it will take you roughly 25 minutes to get to town. But, if you're looking for a home on Howell Mountain, you probably already knew that.

Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

The views are absolutely beautiful, best I've seen in all of Napa (and I'm a native). This was perfect for our reunion weekend (11 women). Home had everything we needed and more. We swam, we hiked, we picked tomatoes and basil from the garden, had wonderful meals and wine. Would absolutely recommend!! I hope to be back. Thank you!

Luxe

  • 5 of 5

This home is such an amazing escape. We love the amenities and comforts it provides, like the lush bedding, fine wine glasses and chefs kitchen. Once we arrive at the property there is no reason to leave!! This was our second timing visiting and has turned into an annual event!

Beautiful part of this world

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 9, and 2 babies stayed here June 9-12, 2016. We were attending a family wedding a couple miles from this property. This place was ideal. There were more than enought bedrooms and bathrooms. The living room area was large. The kitchen had everything one would need. Everything was on one level. Three bedrooms were on one wing of the house, and 2 bedrooms were on another wing of the house. That kept family noise down and we all weren't bumping into each other in the hallway. The house was very clean and tidy. It was decorated most pleasingly too. The bathrooms were spacious and everything worked well. The beds were very comfortable.

The property had 2 aspects though that really made this place special. The long deck on the back side of the house had views that you would swear you were in Austria. The view was unbelievable! We spent hours sitting on the deck. I thought during the day, I would sightsee/ shop the towns in the area, but we never left the house except for wedding activities (although we did hike the area). The other special spot at the vineyard was the pool area. Just gorgeous. I swam laps In the morning. The landscaping on one side of the pool was a long bedding of the most beautiful and fragrant lavender. We were lucky that the weather that weekend was perfect - sunny and warm.

The vineyard surrounding the house was so pastoral and peaceful.

Savannah was a pleasure to deal with. She responded quickly to our questions and gave us lots of tips and pointers about the area. Savannah's father greeted us when we arrived and gifted us with 2 bottles of Turley wine. The wine was very good. We had a minor plumbing problem and Savannah's Dad was diligent about fixing it. The plumbing issue did not in any way affect our enjoyment of the home. And the issue was resolved in a very short time.

I highly, highly recommend this place. I wish we could have spent more time there.

Most Beautiful View of Wine Country

  • 5 of 5

Our experience at Rattlesnake Ridge was above and beyond what we ever could have imagined. The pictures do not do the property justice. The drive up Howell Mountain is picturesque, and the home itself is nestled in a vineyard with the most amazing views. The interior of the home is decorated beautifully, and the kitchen was well-equipped for a talented group of cooks. The weather during our stay was great, so we spent a lot of time enjoying the pool. We were not ready to leave after three nights! The homeowners are attentive and gracious people, and I cannot imagine there is a better place to stay in Napa Valley.
