Incredible Oceanfront Property

  • 5 of 5

The North Kohala coast is an amazing spot with perfect weather and breathtaking views. And great local lunch and dinner places 10-15 minutes away from the resorts. The house itself is perfectly situated on the ocean in a prime whale watching area. We saw whales every morning. There is a terrific kitchen/dining room/living room/patio area and the 4 bedrooms are good too.

Piece of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This place is fabulous. We were a party of 7 adults celebrating a special birthday and were easily accomodated by this spacious and welcoming home. The kitchen contains everything needed for preparation of large meals and the layout of the house allowed us to dine inside or outside. The views are simply spectacular day or night and I cannot imagine a better place on land to view breaching whales. This property is very private but, a short drive to several restaurants and easy access to parks and beaches. Good fish market in Kawaihae. Special thanks to Kai for making all the arrangements easy.

Vacation with extended family

  • 5 of 5

Traveling with children and grandchildren can be a trial! As soon as we arrived at the house the tension vanished. This beautiful house is located on the ocean with stunning ocean, coastline and all 3 mountains in view. The home is spacious and luxurious with every possible detail considered and anticipated for guests, the home is FULLY equipped to enjoy your stay! Bedrooms are oversized en-suite so everyone had private space in addition to the many gathering spots around the home. Grand kids loved the pool, the adults took the goat path to the ocean and snorkeled etc, we could watch them from the various view balconies while watching dolphins, sunrise or sunsets. When we ventured out it was a short drive to local shops and restaurants, Attending a wedding in Waimea was pretty handy and 10 degrees cooler, don't miss dining at Merriman's or the Farmers Market. Our two week visit gave us time to schedule day trips to Hilo, the National Volcano Park, Waipio Valley and all the way round the island, plus local hotels, beaches and waterfalls. This was a memorable vacation and wedding for us, we will return in a heartbeat, what's not to like!

Big Island Villas provided concierge treatment, scheduled housekeeping staff, delivery of food on arrival and checked we were ok regularly, the owner even called in to check all was working. We should have stayed longer!

Beautiful comfortable house for a big family and the site is STUNNING!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this stunning, spacious home for family members traveling to Hawaii for a wedding. It was perfect for a multi-unit, 3 generational family. Everyone had their own privacy and space, but there were many large spaces, inside and out, for the whole clan to congregate. Other visiting family members dropped in and out. The pool was never empty, resulting in 4 yr. old twins learning to swim. The location, right on the ocean, is indescribably beautiful! Sunrise, sunset, dolphins, sailboats, moon and stars. This home is comfortably furnished with a gourmet kitchen, a bbq area on the deck and even a fire pit for outdoor bbq. It's complete with every amenity you could hope for, and more. The location is extremely convenient to Waimea town, Kawaihae for dining out, and the Kohala Coast resorts. Kona is onlyl 45 minutes away. You get the luxury of seclusion and privacy and the convenience of shopping nearby. The property manager went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and memoriable. We couldn't have had a better experience and highly recommend it.

Everything you could ask for and more

  • 5 of 5

What a super fantastic house, the pictures don't really do it justice. The bedrooms are all beautiful, the beds super comfortable, the bathrooms are great, the common areas fantastic, and the view- there are no words to describe it. You are surrounded by ocean where pods of dolphins swim by at random times. The sunset is gorgeous, and the stargazing is other-worldly. On top of the fact that the house is amazing it is so well equipped for guests (several different types of cookware, a 6 burner stove, 2 ovens, a full bar) everything you need is there- soap, shampoo, sunscreen, bug spray, flashlights and candles (we had a short power failure), there was even even beer in the fridges (for us, it'll depend on what prior guests left behind).

The location is great but you're not near town. Waikoloa is about 20 min away, as is waimea. Getting a cappuccino can be tough but there is a little coffee place in kawaiihae that was decent.

I would go back again in a heartbeat, in fact we're already considering it.

Spectacular Home in Every Way

  • 5 of 5

We were able to tour this home last year, so we already knew that we were going to spend the entire week here glued to the deck-- other than morning exercise, we couldn't bear to leave. Not only is this home beautifully designed and decorated, but also it is very spacious and comfortable. 4 of us luxuriated on the decks in the padded lounge chairs, loved cooking in the huge and generously equipped gourmet kitchen with Viking appliances, dined by candlelight on the outside deck over the ocean, enjoyed the huge walk-in showers in the opulent and generously stocked bathrooms, and spotted whales --breaching, (even saw a double breach of 2 whales in unison), tail slapping, and other behaviors, and greeted a pod of dolphins passing by daily. One of our favorite things was hearing the whales bellowing during the night and early morning- along with the spectacular ocean sounds. Whale watching boats passing by were not getting as many whale sightings as we did.

An added bonus was Olivia, a resident cat who is the friendliest and most well behaved cat ever. Not to worry if you are not a cat person-- as she seems to know to keep her distance if necessary, and the self-feeding container is kept out of sight.

Special note about the beautiful pool-- while it is small and not meant for lap swimming, the photos do not do it justice: when you are actually in the pool, you realize it is an infinity pool on one edge so you are looking at endless ocean views enabling you to be practically eye level with the whale spouts.

The giant TV enabled us to record favorite programs on the DVR, as well as provided music through the day on the satellite stations.

Both the manager and owners were extremely helpful and immediately responsive via text/email or phone to assist with questions and minor issues. Many thanks to the owner for sharing this incredible home. We look forward to spending time here again next year.
