Great Views, House and Stay
We spent X-mas in the home, sort of a family reunion with 14 people. Great gated community, views and space in the house. Especially great were the master bedroom, kitchen and game room. I would give 5 stars but the water was not working when we arrived, and the kitchen breakers went out a couple of times. Maintenance resolved the water problem quickly and we reset the breakers 2 times.
We did accidentally leave a very high quality knife in the kitchen and are waiting for it to be returned. I will amend the review when/if resolved.
Up and down
Started off very rocky. No heat. ELectricty going out. Dirty. Plastic tarp on a hole on the wall. First night was a disaster and second day was filled with construction workers, cleaners, and HVAC people. Steve promised to make some financial restitution and asked me to follow up after the stay. I did. He hasn’t called back.
Beautiful spacious home
We loved the views from the top of the hill. The house could use a few more bathrooms, as even the master bedroom shares one.
Thank you for your review! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and the views from Asheville Lodge. At Yonder, we so appreciate guest feedback - yes, even when/if that feedback challenges us to do and be better, as is the case here. We will definitely share your comments with the owners and review where improvements can be made. Thanks again, and please let us know if we can help plan your next mountain vacation!
We spent a long weekend at Asheville Lodge in August 2017. At one time, this was likely a very nice house, but it is getting a little rough around the edges. Missing towel bars and toilet paper holders, broken toilet seats, peeling paint and rotting wood in some exterior locations are just a few of the issues. The wireless router also is underpowered and inadequate. It was nothing major, just an accumulation of little things. I also would note that the garbage from the prior party's stay was still in the garage when we arrived, and it smelled really bad. I had to contact the rental agency to get it removed. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this property.
At Yonder, we so appreciate guest feedback -- yes, even when/if that feedback challenges us to do and be better, as is the case here. We will definitely share your comments with the owners and review where improvements can be made. We would add that Asheville Lodge has accumulated a 4.8 average after 51 reviews while in the Yonder portfolio...however, we want to make sure no one feels the same as you, so we will look closely at this. Thanks for your honesty and if you visit the mountains again, we hope you will consider Yonder for your accommodations. Until then, enjoy your summer.
Spacious, warm, picturesque, centrally located, comfortable
Hosted a first family reunion at Asheville Lodge. It was a perfect accommodation; it's luxurious ample space comfortably allowed for private and group time. Centrally located, it was a great launching pad for our daily activities. The surrounding grounds and views were idyllic. We saw a bear and even a white squirrel.
We truly enjoyed our stay. We rented this home for an annual girl's trip. The house is gorgeous and well appointed. Although, there were only six of us I could easily see the home hosting triple that amount of guests. Lots of living and dining spaces for everyone to spread out into. The views from the house are gorgeous. The staff at Yonder were wonderful to work with and always very helpful. Know that the road leading to the house are pretty windy. Easy access to the Biltmore and downtown Asheville.
