“Good times and great memories start here!”

Our spacious 2500 sq foot home has been our family’s second home for many years and now that the kids are grown, it's time to share it with others. We designed and decorated it to be perfect for families and/or as a retreat for pals, with charm and artistic touches throughout. Although only an hour from the hustle and bustle of Seattle, the stress of everyday life has a way of lifting away as soon as you arrive! Whether you opt to sip a glass of wine on the rooftop deck and watch the sun set behind the Olympic Mountains, or walk to nearby Mutiny Bay beach, it's all good!

This home is nestled among the trees where eagles gather and deer often pay a visit. Just a quick 2 minute walk across the street, and you have access to your own piece of sandy Mutiny Bay beach. A public boat launch is down the street, where you can launch your boat or jet-ski. If you prefer the peace and quiet of a garden and bubbling waterfall, seek refuge in one of the adirondack chairs by the pond surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers.

This is a perfect home for a couple’s retreat, a family vacation or a trip with friends. There are 2 bedrooms with brand new carpet & 2 bathrooms downstairs, one with a queen & the other with 2 twins. Upstairs, we have a large designer-decorated 'great' room, which is private & includes a queen sofa-bed, 2 window beds and a separate bathroom. The door at the bottom of the stairwell provides privacy for anyone staying upstairs.

The kitchen is fully-stocked, bright & roomy, with new range and refrigerator, and cookware, dishes, spices & the like. The dining table seats 6+, as does the roof top deck patio table. The gas grill and fire pit are also up on the deck, which is a great sunset viewing spot.

Being that it was our family home first, there are lots of activities available for the whole family: arts & craft supplies, video and board games, books, DVD’s, scooters, croquet, lawn darts and badminton. In addition, we have provided beach supplies for you to use while at our home: boogie boards, sand castle “equipment”, beach chairs and an umbrella. You’ll also find entertainment with 140 TV channels, 2 DVD players and wireless internet.

Ample parking on the property for a boat/trailer or RV. Bring your toys and have fun!

Why Mutiny Bay on Whidbey Island?

Whidbey Island is a place that¹s perfect for vacationers and ideal for families. It is one of the country’s largest islands. Only an hour from Seattle and a quick ferry ride across Puget Sound, it’s a paradise for children and a summer haven for adults. Enjoy a multitude of farmer’s markets, art fairs and even the Island County fair. There are tons of activities; beach walks, hiking, kayaking, tennis, fishing, bird watching, wine tasting, antique hunting, garden tours and of course, the soft, warm sand and picturesque beaches.

Mutiny Bay is considered by many to be the PREMIER beach in the Northwest. A huge arc of sandy beach and calm waters, it’s a place to play, relax and meet new friends. It is only a quick 10 minute drive from the ferry in Clinton. There are several state parks and golf courses within easy driving distance. You will be within one mile of a grocery store, hardware store, post office, gas station and many other necessities. You can shop in the quaint boutiques find beautiful antiques, or go wine tasting in nearby Langley, Freeland, or Coupeville.

Dogs will be considered upon advance request. Please inquire. An additional fee is required.

About Kathy Fleming

I am a native Southerner, but moved to Seattle long ago and have no plans to leave now. I've raised two children in this area. We bought Mutiny Bay Hideaway when it was a bed and breakfast and turned it into our family vacation home. We have spent many wonderful summers in this home.

Kathy Fleming purchased this house in 1999

Why Kathy Fleming chose Whidbey Island

Once we decided that Whidbey Island was where we wanted a vacation home, we set out to find the right house. We purchased this house because of it's location, garden and character. Anchors on the shutters and a white picket fence? Perfect! Of our family's Top 10 List of what we wanted in a house, this one met 9 of the requirements. We put a lot of love into fixing up this house. Now that the kids are grown, I want other people to have the same experience of falling in love with Whidbey Island.

What makes this house unique

Bright, cheery & beautifully decorated (with help). Lots of wildlife (eagles, finches, deer, bunnies); peaceful & serene; incredible sunsets; a place to gather with family and friends; and of course the BEACH!

This home is amazing. We would not need to bring anything. Love decor and comfort.

I grew up in Holmes Harbor so staying here was like coming home for Christmas. Loved cooking in the kitchen with family sitting round the table close by, with fire blazing in wood stove. We had walks on beach, played games, sang songs and loved every minute at Mutiny Bay Hideaway.

Mutiny Bay Hideaway exceeded ALL of our expectations! The home was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. It felt like a home away from home and we certainly plan to return one day. Kathy is a pleasure to work with and made certain that the house was filled all the amenities one could possibly need.

Exactly what we wanted!

  • 5 of 5

Kathy's house is so charming and central to all fun Whidbey things (beach, towns, hikes, etc). Her backyard is a beautiful oasis- we enjoyed reading next to the pond and eating dinner on the rooftop at sunset. It was ideal, and Kathy made it even better with her responsiveness and thoughtfulness having all the little things (beach towels, kitchen tools, everything!). When she found out we were bringing our baby, she even offered a pack'n'play she had at the house, which made it even more convenient. Thank you for a wonderful trip, Kathy!

Owner's Response: Alyssa, I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay at my home. I must say you probably left it cleaner than you found it! My cleaning gal said, "I love these guests!" I appreciate you taking good care of everything and taking full advantage of everything the home and island have to offer. Come back!

Very unique house, had a great time!

  • 5 of 5

This house was set up very nicely. It was an easy walk to the beach. One of my favorite things about this house was all of the things for the kids to enjoy inside. Another very nice feature was the top deck area where you can bbq and enjoy a great meal around the table with a great view. We were very happy with our stay!
