On the water, shore is rocky, row boat, dock and crows nest all included. Washer but no dryer (yet)
1 room with king, 1 room with 4 bunks, stairs to loft upstairs with a queen and room for another single. (Loft has windows all around, high ceiling) You'll need to bring linens and towels and drinking water - the water is drawn from the lake so is okay to shower in but not to drink or use for coffee.
Our family enjoyed a wonderful weekend stay at Camp Betty right on the shore of Lake Champlain in North Hero. The view was incredible. The cottage was easy to find with GPS and the owner was kind enough to tie a white bag to the mailbox post to catch our attention for our nighttime arrival. I love that there were 2 bathrooms and plenty of sleeping space. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, dishes, glasses, and utensils. The location on North Hero was convenient for travels to Burlington and to Grand Isle for the ferry to New York.
A well equipped kitchen, great views, good for swimming. Very rustic feel but clean updated bathrooms. Also nobody mentioned there is a nice wood burning stove in the dining/living room, needed cleaning out but worked very well and was enjoyed. Had some difficulty contacting owner with questions ( it took several days) Overall a good deal for the price.
We enjoyed our stay at Camp Betty. The kitchen was stocked for every cooking need and the views from the back deck were amazing. The house was typical of a cottage on the lake as far as bugs, so bring your bug spray and you'll be fine! We had a great time playing board games around the big dining room table!
Overall, we had a wonderful 10 day stay in the N. Hero camp. Elizabeth, the owner was very responsive/accommodating and easy to deal with.
Strengths: proximity to the water, kayaks and boat, sleeping areas, bathrooms, kitchen facilities, outdoor deck and dock
Concerns: proximity to the road for noise, road too dangerous to walk, camps to the south occasionally noise issue, overall cleanliness, hornets' nest in tree by deck.
Great vacation! Looking forward to next year.

We had a great time staying at this property in late August 2015. The water (about 20 feet from the house) was still warm enough for swimming and we enjoyed the two kayaks included with the rental. The house was clean and met our needs, and we very much enjoyed the view from the porch. The owner was good at communicating with us and is very conscientious. One note I'd like to make to potential future renters - the photos of the property on Homeaway as of mid-August 2015 don't do it much justice. Although it is not luxury living (you do have to bring your own drinking water), it is a cute little lakeside cabin that is generous enough to meet the needs of at least a 6-person family. . . and it *does* have both a washer and dryer as of this writing. I'd recommend the property and would stay there again.
We had a wonderful time at Camp Betty! Quaint cottage with comfy beds, stocked kitchen, awesome screened porch, sunrise on the deck over the water, fishing dock, & 2 awesome kayaks & a row boat! We made the most of our adventure on the lake and would recommend to a friend. The kids bunk room was awesome! Elizabeth was very helpful in preparation for our trip and was available to us while we were there and had questions. We would rent from them again.
