This fantastic third floor pied a terre boasts hardwood floors, high ceilings and a quiet balcony overlooking Oglethorpe Square in the heart of Savannah's historic district. A Hollywood Regency and Art Deco theme runs throughout with white furniture and walls accented by greens, blues and metallics. The hallways are nicely appointed and well groomed. Enjoy an evening on the balcony overlooking the live oaks and gardens.

Wonderful for 2-3 people. Please be able to walk to third floor via stairway. This is a quiet upscale building and reserved for company guests only. 00418

Would be ok if owner wasn't so rude

I will start this review off by saying the apartment is in an excellent location. You can walk pretty much anywhere so if that is your only criteria then this is a good choice.

However, you may have deal with the owner or want to take a shower so if that is the case, beware. I emailed the owner a couple times asking if we could check-in early and received no response. I called the owner upon arriving in Savannah to ask if we could enter the apartment early. Thankfully, she answered and said we could get into the apartment, however, had a very bad attitude as if I was bothering her for even asking. There were check-in instructions included on the HomeAway app which included a front door code and an apartment door code. The front door code in the app check-in instructions is wrong but don't bother telling the owner this as she will reply with a condescending response and tell you to "read more carefully." Thankfully, there was a construction crew working on a neighbors apartment when we arrived and helped us get in. The owner sends an email at time of booking with check-in instructions (and a correct front door code) but that was almost 6 months prior to our arrival and I assumed the instructions in the app would be correct, my mistake for assuming and forgetting about the instructions emailed, however the rude response received was completely unnecessary and left a bad taste in my mouth. In the email informing the owner of the incorrect check-in instructions, I also told her that the couch was broken when we arrived and she said nothing about this. To add to the unpleasant experience, the shower did not drain properly so within 2 minutes you were standing in ankle deep water (gross!). The light in the bathroom didn't work and instead of fixing it, a small lamp was added so the bathroom was incredibly dim. We also found a previous guest's bra on the floor under the couch so they are obviously not cleaning well after each guest. From the bedroom you could hear people dumping garbage into the dumpster in the alley which could be very loud at times. The comforter on the bed was also pretty dingy looking with some random stains. I've rented through HomeAway/VRBO many times and unfortunately this was my first bad experience with an owner.

Cute apartment near Oglethorpe square

The apartment had everything one would need including pot and pans and a nice sized kitchen. Our arrival day was a day early and not updated in the system so the apartment was not scheduled to be cleaned. One call and Chris had it ready. The building had a shared upstairs balcony which overlooked Oglethorpe square and next to the Owens-Thomas house. The building felt secure with a front door code to enter. It was 1 block from Leopolds Ice cream and about 8 blocks from the Riverfront area. The Old Town trolley stopped about a block away from the apartment. We really enjoyed the location and will rent this unit again.

The location is fantastic!!

The location is fantastic. The apartment was very nice for 2 people . It was very clean except for the living room rug . There is basically no view out the windows but you can walk down the hall a few steps to the balcony and and have a wonderful view of the square. I would definitely stay here again.

Location is the ONLY thing great about this place

Location is excellent, you can walk everywhere. Parking pass provided,which was a huge plus and isn't described in the listing.


1.Apartment was dirty, several pots/pans/plates hadn't been cleaned and general cleanliness seamed lacking. Shower was pretty gross, shower curtain was torn and would blow on you when AC kicked on.

2. Communication was poor, no prior check in email or message to give us the relevant details. No info about not worrying about parking so we drove around like idiots for 20 minutes looking for an empty parking deck. Code to get into the building that was listed in the homeaway app was wrong. Hospitality needs serious work.

3- Photos a bit misleading, balcony/porch is a shared area on the other side of the building.

4- Got pretty loud Friday night, sounded like a live band performing next door. Quiet on the weekdays though.

5- Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, we didn't sleep great. Furniture uncomfortable. TV was nice.

Seemed like a place for college kids. If you care about comforts and cleanliness don't stay here. If you just want location, go for it.
