Just north of historic downtown Florence is the peaceful, oceanside neighborhood of Heceta Beach and this newer construction, two-bedroom Florence vacation home! Sky blue and two stories tall, this getaway has a large wrap-around deck, hardwood floors, gorgeous ocean views, and a crisp, beach-influenced design theme throughout.
Step inside to a living room with tall ceilings, lots of windows, and comfortable furniture for relaxing. When you want to stay in and take it easy, there's a flat screen TV with a DVD player and a VCR, so bring your favorite TV shows and old movies on videotape from home. Have a movie marathon complete with popcorn and snacks on the coffee table or just watch the big game on a lazy Sunday afternoon. There's also WiFi throughout the house, so keeping in touch with the office is no problem at all.
The full kitchen is well organized with all of the major appliances you'll need for preparing meals. There's even a dishwasher for easy clean up. Use the blender to whip up some fruit smoothies to go along with some chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. A table right in the kitchen provides a cozy dining space whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinnertime.
This beach retreat's deck is fully furnished with an outdoor table, chairs, and a gas grill. Just throw some steaks on grill and have an afternoon cookout, complete with the relaxing sounds of the waves crashing nearby. After dinner, relax and finish up the wine, talk about the day, or just enjoy a pretty sunset. And if you're the first one up in the morning, bring your coffee out here for some quiet, contemplative time or even a few yoga stretches.
There's a bedroom located on the main floor with a queen sized bed, ocean-themed bedding, and relaxing cool color tones. There's also a bathroom on this floor, as well as a laundry room with a washer and dryer.
Head upstairs to a cute little loft area overlooking the living room with its own sitting area, full futon, and TV. The second bedroom is a stylish room with vaulted ceilings and a comfortable king sized bed. Also on this level a second bathroom. This home will sleep eight guests comfortably, including your furry family members (though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).
When you're done beachcombing for shells and pieces of agate, running on the beach with the dog, or just relaxing on the sand with a good beach book, you'll be just a short walk away from your Florence vacation home. Or pack a picnic lunch and spend all day on the shore! From here, it's also a short walk to the Surfside Restaurant for lunch, or just a five mile drive into town for even more restaurant choices.
Old Town Florence enjoys a scenic view of the Siuslaw River and has a number of galleries, shops, cafes, and coffee houses. Wander through bookstores or spend and hour or so sitting out at a sidewalk cafe just people watching. There's even an antique district to browse through and a store dedicated to just olives - stuffed olives, olive oils, pickled vegetables, and plenty of samples.
A day trip in the area might include a drive north about a half an hour to the Heceta Head Lighthouse just outside of Yachats for a tour of this historic structure and a walk around the grounds. Continue into town and stop at the Green Salmon Coffee Shop for lattes, pastries, or freshly-prepared lunch snacks.
Closer to home, the Sea Lion Caves are only 11 miles north of Florence and whale watching and tide pooling can be done at many locations right near your Heceta Beach neighborhood. Back in Florence's Old Town, celebrate your getaway with a dinner at Waterfront Depot for seafood chowder and their famous tres leches cake, followed by a show at the Three Rivers Casino.
Whether you come to this lovely Florence vacation rental in the off-season for some winter storm watching, or plan a stay in the summer, your whole family will love staying here!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this homeour team is standing by!
Very quiet and relaxing. If you require lots of television on your holiday, this is not the house for you. Limited channels...but then there are lots of other things to do.
It was a cozy well kept home very close to the beach. We enjoyed our stay!
Perfect vacation home for an active family, roomy and kid friendly---can't wait to come back again next year!
Great place for the 6 of us. Close to the beach, and just a few miles to downtown Florence.
Nice roomy house had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean and had satellite tv, wifi. It was clean and located in a nice area. It was pretty kid friendly, I had my 2yr old granddaughter on this trip and I did not have to put a lot of stuff up and out of her reach.
We were close to beach access and to town. It was is a nice quiet area and easy to find. We had everything we needed for a enjoyable stay.
