Wonderful hosts and property

  • 5 of 5

Our hosts, Les and Barbara were very welcoming and responsive to any questions. The apartment has a beautiful view of Lake Ontario, which is so relaxing and enjoyable at the beginning and end of the day. The beds were very comfy and we had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We had parking next to the building so that was convenient as well. It's not far from downtown Toronto, but like another guest said, it's best to avoid the main highway, and take Lake Shore Drive into the city, as traffic is very heavy and a 20 minute drive can take an hour in rush hour using the main highway. The property is also about an hour and a half away from Niagara Falls, which was breathtaking.

There's only 1 small suggestion I would make and that is that they provide lovely china plates, however because of the metal trim on them, they weren't conducive for putting a plate of food into the microwave to heat up, so it might be good to have a few plates and bowls that can go into the microwave. A car is recommended to get around to places of interest and to nearby stores and restaurants (some stores and restaurants only a 5 minute drive away). Anyway, we had a wonderful time at this lovely location and would recommend it.

Never again

  • 1 of 5

Very cluttered apartment type housing. Uncomfortable bedding, towels and sheets that smelled like mildew. No air conditioning and windows that I don't think have ever been cleaned. When speaking with the owner about no A/C and the possibility of providing a fan I was told if I'm hot to jump in the lake to cool off. Are you kidding me. Luckily for me I didn't spend much time there just uncomfortable nights sleep and smelly towels. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Owner's Response: • We would like to take a moment to contest the above reviewer's statements regarding his stay, as they are simply untrue. Firstly, immediately upon request, the reviewer was given a fan. This being the case, why would we respond with an absurd comment indicating that he should jump in the lake? This is a personal affront, as we do not make flippant remarks to our guests and pride ourselves on providing the most accommodating experience possible. Additionally, the following indicates the average temperatures reached during the reviewer's stay: Average daily for September 17C – 62F Average nightly for September 13C – 56F Not having a/c (which is indicated in the description) has not been a problem in the past, as our building is cool and our location maintains a lake breeze that lowers the average temperature common to the area. Our place is clean and tidy, with high quality linens and towels. But rather than taking our word for it, please see the reviews attached below, of which there are countless others, indicating how pleased our guests have been; even ecstatic about their stays with us. • There is no AC but we were there in August and with the windows open, there was always a breeze - we were never uncomfortable. • The apartment was very clean and nicely furnished. The hosts, Les and Barbara, live in another unit in the building and were wonderful. Super nice and helpful people. • Apartment hosts (Les and Barbara) reside onsite and very friendly and helpful. • The rooms in the apartment were very clean and beautifully furnished. Overall it was an awesome place to stay during our getaway. • The hosts, Les and Barbara are very nice n hospitable. I would definitely go back there on my next Ontario visit. • Les and his wife Barbara were very gracious and welcoming. • The apartment itself was ideal, Les and his wife are very friendly and quick with a response to any questions we had. • Very clean and tidy property with all necessary amenities and plenty of towels! • The hosts, Les and Barbara, live in another unit in the building and were wonderful. Super nice and helpful people. • The view is lovely, and the apartment is clean and seems to have been recently updated (nice floors, kitchen cabinets, etc.). The property owners are helpful and seem to be nice people As a host, and I am certain other hosts will agree, it is disappointing to do your very best for your guests and for those people to then spread falsehoods.

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Les and Barbara were welcoming and informative. The flat is beautiful, clean, and has a view that can't be beat. My husband and I took bike rides on the lakefront paths, our daughters used Les's kayak to explore. Toronto is a beautiful and interesting city with a lot to see and do. Easy to fill a week with tourist activities.

Interesting Place - Beautiful View - Kind Hosts

  • 4 of 5

This house is at the end of a nice neighborhood, where there always seemed to be people walking/biking. We were happy to have the trolley (street car) stop nearby - but as it happened, there was construction on the tracks, so we could not use the trolley. The metro station to get fare cards was not close by - we ended up just driving into Toronto every day. It wasn't bad... The house is easy access to Lake Shore Drive, which goes directly into Toronto - it was quicker than going via the highway, which we did one day and got stuck in traffic. The view is lovely, and the apartment is clean and seems to have been recently updated (nice floors, kitchen cabinets, etc.). The beds are rather firm. The property owners are helpful and seem to be nice people. The building and grounds are not as up-to-date as the apartment. There is no AC but we were there in August and with the windows open, there was always a breeze - we were never uncomfortable.

Beautiful area and wonderful hosts

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I and two of our adult children stayed at this property in late July 2017 for 4 days. We were on the top floor facing the lake and loved having the small balcony. We used the kayak, visited the nearby parks and beach, and generally did a lot of walking (by choice). The night view of the city of Toronto from one of the parks is really great. There was occasionally some nighttime noise coming from the mini "parkette" right next door, particularly on weekend. We also weren't aware that it was a multi-unit property; had to make sure we always had keys on us when out of the unit but it wasn't a problem. The apartment was very clean and nicely furnished. The hosts, Les and Barbara, live in another unit in the building and were wonderful. Super nice and helpful people.
