About Bob Harris
Property has been in our Family since 1961, we have a second home on the street & rent out this one frequently. We're available 24x7 for anything that comes up. No one that has ever rented the house has not said they'd like to/or will return. :-)
Bob Harris purchased this Cottage in 1961
Why Bob Harris chose Buzzards Bay
Location, location, location.... Pets are welcome, bring the small boat, we can let you hang on a mooring while your here.
What makes this Cottage unique
Minutes from the Bourne bridge, don't have to sit in the dreaded Cape traffic. Close to the Chart Room & Lobster Trap restaurants, two of people's favorites.

When we arrived it was hot, humid and pouring rain (and I do mean pouring) so we were surprised to see the windows open. The first thing we noticed was water literally dripping off the furniture near the windows. Half the sofa, the carpeting and the chairs were soaked. We closed the windows, turned on the air conditioning and attempted to dry everything off but the sofa remained wet for days. The next thing we noticed is there were no soap or towels in the bathroom and no sheets on the bed. We contacted the owner who said we'd find sheets in the bedroom and she would bring towels. She did bring a trash bag filled with assorted towels later.
The sheets were in a bin in the closet and none were a complete set. We aren't fancy people...we weren't looking for 500 thread count but a clean, matching set would have been nice. Several of the blankets we're stained with something red. There was no mention in the ad to bring our own linens. The overwhelming smell of mold and mildew were especially prevalent in the bunk room. I would imagine if windows are habitually left open in heavy rain that might explain it. We ended up leaving a day early because we were all experiencing respiratory symptoms. Theres much more I could share including mildew stains on the shower curtain but I'm running out of space. Also it should be noted that this place does not sleep 8.
The bunk room sleeps 4 but wouldn't be comfortable for most adults and the queen bed sleeps 2. The sofa and loveseat are not sleeper type.
Compared to my other experiences with VBRO and HomeAway this fell very, very short of my expectations and I can't imagine VBRO would approve either. I would not recommend this rental. The only positive I can offer is the great location in the upper Cape.
My family and I have come here every summer for the past 10 years and my kids have adored it from age 10 to 20! It is a true gem of a vacation spot, right over the Bourne Bridge so you don't get caught up in "Cape Traffic", on a private cul de sac where it's safe to play outside. There is a beautiful big lawn for the kids to play on in addition to the huge beach for exploring. The cottage has everything you need and is close to restaurants and shops, we like to shop at Mashpee Commons and eat at The Lobster Trap and Chart Room. You will love this place!
