The Wallace Ranch was established in 1996 with the same spirit and hard work that made western ranches of years past such a success. Myself and my beautiful wife Jessica have enjoyed the ranch for many years but now would like to extend an invitation to all who want to experience West Texas living at its finest! The house consists of 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. Large open kitchen and living area, office with wireless internet, basement and wraparound porch with front patio. New Vita 6 person in-ground hot tub w/ wifi. Horses are always welcome and with our four pipe corrals, arena, tack room and hundreds of acres to roam we are confident the horses will have just as much fun as the guests.
We split our time between Jessica's hometown of Wellington KS and the Wallace Ranch. I grew up throughout the southwest but the Texas Panhandle kept calling me home and in '96 we purchased the undeveloped land and began to build our dream. We spend considerable time in Wellington during the summer with family and friends but we are typically in and out of the ranch every few days.
Brian Wallace purchased this house in 2005
This place was perfect for our 3-family get together. The place was spacious. Teens played pool in the pool room, the little ones had their own room downstairs full of toys, and the adults could gather in the big kitchen and living room. The beds were comfortable, and the bedrooms were spacious. We enjoyed the hot tub and even used the kennel. This place felt like home away from home. We loved the Christmas decorations.
We met 3 generations of the Wallace family. We found them to be some of the nicest and most generous folks we've met. We look forward to staying at the Wallace ranch again.
We were looking to get away for a long weekend and have some relaxing time together where it was quiet and away from the city. This was the perfect place. The owners were great, they made sure everything was just right for the weekend.
When we arrived they met us at the house and showed us all features and made sure if there was anything we needed they would help. They provided some recommendations for places to eat and they were perfect. One of the places we visited 3 times during our weekend.
We came out to Canyon to hike the Canyon and the house was just a short drive away from the Canyon entrance and the city of Canyon and Amarillo. When you live in a metro area, you often forget how quiet and beautiful the country can be. The first night we sat on the back porch and watched the sunset and it was just beautiful.
The house is big and would be perfect also for a bigger family with large kitchen and playroom downstairs for the kids. Even with just the two of us, it was just perfect allowing us plenty of room to relax.
Can't go wrong with the property and of course again the owners were so nice and provided that Texas hospitality we all expect. Would definitely stay there again.
I led a group of women down to hike the Palo Duro Canyon and Wallace Ranch fit our needs perfectly. It is nicely situated close to Canyon, Palo Duro Canyon, and Amarillo so we could enjoy what the area had to offer. We enjoyed the vistas during the day and the stars and city lights of Canyon at night. The Ranch is well kept and Brian is a very welcoming host. I highly recommend Wallace Ranch.
Our initial concern was the location of this ranch, but that quickly turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Just a very short drive out of Canyon, Amarillo and Palo Duro Canyon made this rental very convenient but also also awards you complete privacy at the end of the day. The very spacious, open concept interior allowed us to bond as a family but also gave two teenagers their privacy to chill out.
We had the fortunate opportunity to meet and talk with Blair Wallace, who settled us in with all the necessary info including places to go and eat. Ask Blair about Rafter G's in Umberger, where the locals eat. Great food.
This rental is a great way to experience the true Texas Panhandle Plains lifestyle. If you are open to new experiences, you will not be disappointed.
My family of 5 and both sets of grandparents throughly enjoyed our stay at Wallace Ranch. The house is beautiful and roomy. The kitchen had everything we needed. Brian and his father were very friendly and helpful. We took both of our dogs and they loved chasing rabbits and pretending to be ranch dogs. We will definitely go back to Wallace Ranch in the future. Palo Duro Canyon was a wonderful place to explore. Thanks for everything, Brian!!
Our family had a great time at the Wallace Ranch. Great people, great location, led to a great time. Would definitely go back again. Highly recommend. Honest people and a great home.
