Guestbook comments from the owner

Merci beaucoup! The location is perfect for any duration of visitor's, central area, close to the Seine, and near to one of the great Rues in Paris : Le Mouffe! A paradise for visitors who are also good cooks...the market just up the street. The apartment is quite soundproof and the bed is fine. We appreciated all the "modern" amenities. We stayed from Feb 10 trough March 3 and we found the apartment to be invitingly warm- good heaters! Only one suggestion for you : you may want to put a phone book or a list of phone numbers for taxis in the apartment. Otherwise - we loved it, and for us, Paris will always be associated with Mouffetard + Latin Quarter in our memories.

Our New Second Home!

  • 5 of 5

Being Paris first timers, my husband and I didn't know what to expect, but this apartment was EVERYTHING we had hoped for! It was very, very clean, comfortable and close to everything. We enjoyed our days walking the markets up and down the Rue Mouffetard (2blks away), the subway is also just two blocks away, buses take you directly to the Louvre, bakeries, butchers, wine shops, all within walking distance and the restaurants! This location was truly next to everything. We were able to walk to the Pantheon, walk to Notre Dame, a short walk to the subway will take you anywhere in Paris you wish to venture and then come back "home" at night, pick up a baguette, cheese, fruit and roast chicken, and relax in a quiet apartment. Dirty clothes? No worry, the washer/dryer unit in the apartment was a lifesaver!

We loved being able to get up in the morn, grab our Starbucks (yes, a fantastic Starbucks is right up the street from here), grab our morning croissant from the bakery across the street from Starbucks and make our way deep into the city of Paris to explore. We enjoyed coming home during the evening "rush" to grab a baguette, chicken, cheese, fresh fruit/veggies, and sometimes pasta, and have dinner in our apartment and take in the sounds of the neighborhood. We even ventured out to the Rue Moffetard several times late at night (11pm) to find the area still alive and kicking with late night diners enjoying wine and conversation at many of the restaurants (which seem to stay open until at least 1am!). Got a hankering for some classic French cuisine at 10PM? No problem! Falafel craving (like I had) at 12 midnight? No worries, several great tasting option were still available at that hour! There was so much to see and do, just in this neighborhood alone, it made it hard to leave to explore the rest of Paris!

The owner was very nice and kept owner manuals and instructions handy in the apartment. At nighttime (depending on when you visit) open the french style windows and hear the sounds of the city and depending on whether it is soccer season, listen to the crowd cheers and dance from the sports bar next door. It was loud, but somewhat soothing and never annoying and added to the magic of Paris.

If you want a great, like home experience, and in a safe, upscale neighborhood close to everything, then this definitely the spot to rent. We plan to return again this year, same apartment, if it's available! Enjoy your stay!

We're definitely coming back.

This is a very clean and well maintained apartment just two blocks from Rue Mouffetard, my favorite street in all of Paris. Within a very short walk you will find a pedestrian street with every kind of shop and restaurant imaginable. Cheese, pate, meat, fish, fruit/vegetables, bakeries, and on and on. There's a supermarket very nearby and it's a short walk to the metro. There's a bicycle rental stand just one block away. You'll often see wonderful street performers on Rue Mouffetard. It became a morning ritual to walk to the closest bakery for a baguette each morning. Everything is so close. There are tons of boutiques for shopping, and restaurants of every description, from Spanish to Tibetan. Be sure to visit the Turkish place across from Rue Des Poste. Great kofta and kebab. The apartment has a washer/dryer which is a blessing. The WiFi worked flawlessly and was fast. One thing we appreciated is that there were no leftover stuff from previous renters. The last place we rented had lots of junk leftover from previous renters. My daughter tells me the fold out bed was very comfortable. The owner is very nice, accommodating, and easy to reach. There's a post office nearby, and a huge mall one metro stop away at Place d'Italie. The Louvre is right on the #7 metro line. And you can walk to Notre Dame easily from here. The apartment is quiet but close to lots of fun. There were three of us and we fit comfortably. Be sure to look for the box on the shelf with all the manuals for the multi-lingual owners manual for the washer/dryer. The owner is great about keeping owners manuals for everything.

Great apartment

  • 5 of 5

Merci Jean-Louis. We had a wonderful stay at your apartment. The location is perfect. Place Monge, the Latin Quarter, St Germain des Prés, the Islands and lovely Quays of the Seine are so accessible. We walked around the loveliest neighbourhood here. When we're home, we found nothing lacking. Your beautiful apartment has all the amenities to make our stay comfortable and very enjoyable. Your place will be a part of our fun-rest memories from this Paris visit/vacation. Thanks for helping us feel comfortable in many little ways.

Wonderful apartment

  • 5 of 5

Very nice apartment, clean and located in a wonderful Parisian neighborhood. Nice street market (rue Mouffetard) with cafes, boulangeries, fromageries, and much more great food. Metro stop is an easy walk. Apartment itself is basic, with a comfortable bed. Wifi works well. Jean-Louis was very helpful and flexible and the price was fair. We would definitely come back.

Dirty

  • 2 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this apt. for 5 days and all I have to say is: DIRTY. After our arrival we met with the owner and after he left we began inspecting the place. Yes it is small and we both expected that, but wouldn't you think that because it is small it would be easier to clean. The kitchen counters had something sticky it, the kitchen table had the same sticky stuff, and the bathroom and linens just didn't seem clean. Suggestion: Bring your own linens if you can. I am happy that I carried a little bottle of Lysol with me. The washer in the apt was a plus. WiFi was very helpful. Apt is right above a bar/pub so there was some noise although it wasn't so bad until the weekend hit. Saturday night is the worst with the bar noise. My suggestion: have great ear plugs and sleeping pills. The location is great and that was a great pro for us. We were 1 block away from Rue Mouffetard with the best Turkish restaurant "Istanbul Grill". It is very accessible to the Metro. If visiting from the U.S. ask if you can paypal the remaining balance. The conversion rate of dollars to euros was not that great when we visited and we ended up paying more in euros than what we expected.
