Drive down the driveway, past an enormous banyan tree, to this large home. This classic Hawaiian home, with its original lava rock wall entrance, is a truly one-of-a-kind oceanfront property. It has been remodeled, while maintaining its original Hawaiian charm. The open style of this Hawaiian property has ideal vacation home conveniences, such as a completely renovated ocean view kitchen with 2 refrigerators, an ocean view master bath, a living room with doors that open to the ocean where you can sit steps away from the sand and water. The many spacious bedrooms in this house allow groups to stay together while affording ample private space. The home spans the entire ocean front portion of the lot.

This home also has access to a large (shared) gated pool area. The water in front of the home is shallow and calm, which is good for children. Surfing is possible during the summer months in front of the home if you walk out past the reef where it gets deeper. Amazing snorkeling is just a few minutes up the road at world famous Hanauma Bay.

Great house for a big group

The Banyan Tree is perfect for a big group, plenty of beds, lots of light, and a nice big kitchen. The beach is also right outside the backyard which makes for a really lovely view. Our group enjoyed the pool table, pool, and hot tub that was on the property.

I just want to describe what I was not satisfied with.

1) For the check-in

Two weeks before the check-in, I contacted with the service for the check-in details by myself. It took a lot of time to getting all the details down.

2) Unpredictable 150 dollars charge

After I checked-out the property , It had been 7 days. My account was charged another 150 dollars. I called and sent email asking the information. The service just told me undercharged my tax. I replied for more information. But no any word received by now!!!

Manager responded on 2/7/2017:

We send out move in instructions 30 days prior to check in. Guests are able to download our free app or a pdf version. After this we follow up with two emails reminding guests to make sure they have downloaded, printed, and understand the move in instructions. About one week prior to check in we make a final attempt to contact guests who have not downloaded the app, and remind them to make sure they have all instructions. Sometimes guests ignore these emails, but we certainly do all we can to provide guests with move in instructions prior to their check in.

The additional charges mentioned by this reviewer are due to the fact the guest booked thru Airbnb. All guests who book thru Airbnb are charged for taxes separately, outside of the Airbnb system, as the Airbnb platform does not currently allow us to correctly charge TAT and GET. We explain this within each of our listings on Airbnb, then prior to accepting an Airbnb booking we ask the potential guest to confirm they understand and agree to pay the tax. These guests were aware of, and agreed to, all charges. The charges were simply made separately, instead of all at once, which seems to have caused confusion. There was also a bit of a language barrier between our office staff and these guests. We are very sorry the guests feel unsatisfied by our service, and will continue our dialogue with them until all of their questions are answered to their satisfaction.

Great location. The unit itself needs a lot of work. Kitchen not equipped well enough for 12 guests. Kitchen cabinets and drawers very bad shape. White couch smells horrible. My wife and I would not sit on it. All screen doors were broken so we couldn't keep out some additional house guests....Rats...They ate our bread. Breakers kept tripping and power would shut off. TV's (Some need updating) Thanks for the replacement TV though. We actually left on Sunday night so we could sleep in our own house. This unit could be very nice. Owner should put some money into it.
