Hudson is an amazing destination, two hours from New York City by car or train (with 12 trains each way every day). It’s a walkable miniature city of historic architecture, antiques, art and design galleries, performance events both sophisticated and edgy, and great food. The town overlooks the magnificent Hudson River and Catskill Mountains, and is surrounded by the bucolic landscapes of Columbia County. Historic house museums, country walks and charming villages are all within a few minutes’ drive.
Cherry Alley Studio is just steps from the bustle of Hudson’s shops, restaurants and clubs, and a ten minute walk from the Amtrak station. We’ll leave you notes on our favorite places to eat, shop and visit.
We live right across the yard. We’re here if you need us, but won’t bother you if you don’t. It’s your vacation — enjoy it in luxurious privacy.
The City of Hudson now has a 4% lodging tax, included in your room rate. An itemized receipt is available upon request. License #129.

About Jonathan Lerner
I'm a magazine editor and writer specializing in architecture and design, and travel. My partner is a photo stylist for interiors magazines and furniture catalogues. Being very experienced travelers, we've stayed in all kinds of places. So we've had lots of opportunity to discover what we appreciate in a lodging: thoughtful design, lack of fussiness, helpful attitude and privacy.

Why Jonathan Lerner chose Athens
We moved from another historic house a few blocks away in Hudson. This property appealed to us because it is a typical 19th century vernacular townhouse. The former stable building in back, where the studio apartment is located, is a very common building type along Hudson's alleys — although few of them have been renovated to this degree. We also loved the central location. Right now we're living in and renovating the front house, and establishing a garden.

Super Location - Exactly as Pictured!
We had a great week in Hudson! The town is lots of fun and the Cherry Alley Studio is a perfect location. There are lots of shops, eateries, and a fantastic Saturday farmer's market. We chose Hudson as a base for touring the historic Hudson Valley above Hyde Park.
Great location, contemporary, very comfortable
Extremely well considered accommodations, centrally located, and JL was a great host. Furniture was comfortable, especially the bed, and included all the comforts of home. Would highly recommend.
Mini Vacation @ Cherry Alley Studio
Very comfortable and private, we enjoyed our mini vacation at the Cherry Alley Studio. Our next trip will be for a week , not just a couple of days. Perfect place to relax. Great restaurants and shops. Thanks Jonathon !
cozy, clean, easy, charming, good vibe, highly recommend
Looks, charm and personality
A number of folks have reviewed Cherry Alley as a vacation choice, but I went up when I needed a quiet place to get some work done. It was ideal. Everything's walkable, the town itself is really darling these days and, while you could cook in the studio, there's a top notch local takeaway shop (Talbots) a block or two away. The owners keep the place perfectly clean and thoughtfully stocked, and have created a lovely, creative space. One note: if the internet gets spotty, it's zippy at the library.
great location, cozy space
This place had everything we needed for a short stay in Hudson. Location was great - - one street over from Warren, where all the shops and restaurants are. We could walk everywhere.
The hosts were friendly and left granola and milk + teas for us to have in the morning. It was very cold in Hudson the weekend we were there, but the heater worked well for keeping the place nice and toasty. Only thing I would add is that you should bring your own shampoo/conditioner.
