Our family of four spent a week in Ketchikan at Channel View. It was a perfect fit for us. We also rented the Nissan Cube available on Turo and were pleased with both.
The cottage is across the highway and up a hill from the water in a quiet neighborhood. There is a great view of the water from the front window and deck. The bedroom looks out into a forested area. We had sunny, warm weather and appreciated the outdoor seating. At low tide, there are some places you can explore the rocky beaches within walking distance. It is not within walking distance from downtown.
Our teenage boys shared the loft. It was great for them. The stairs are steep and open on one side as can be seen in the photos - this might need to be a consideration if you have small children or an elderly person that would need to be in the loft. The loft has a double bed and two twin beds. There is also a bed in the downstairs bedroom. All of the beds had nice linens and there were lots of extra blankets and towels.
The kitchen had everything we needed for making simple meals.
There are movies, books, puzzles, and some games available as well. We had such beautiful weather that we did not need to use them but they would be good for a rainy day and I have been told that there are a lot of those.
The cottage is decorated nicely. It is a charming and comfortable place for a vacation.
Jess and Sue made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
Very nice place! Worked just perfect for us!
Fishing trip retreat
Very convenient and clean. Nice property to stay in. Enjoyed our stay so much we already booked it for our next trip.
I loved having a washer and dryer. We were very wet from fishing all day! I loved having access to a full kitchen to cook my own food that we caught. There was even room to invite cousins over for dinner. We liked being on the other end of town away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Very close to breath taking hikes and waterfalls. June 6-12 were our dates and the weather was colder, rainy, and wonderful. In Utah it was already 90 and we liked the colder weather. Fishing was AWESOME. We are going to come next year and bring out kids!! THANKS!!
"Charming Cottage with a Great View"
We stayed at this home in June for 5 nights it has every thing you will
need to have a great stay. Jess and Sue are amazing owners and are there to answer any questions or take care of any home needs you may have. The home is decorated with a Nautical theme and that is very well done. The furniture is very comfortable and new with lots of pillows and warm blankets. The view from the home is beautiful you can see all kinds of wildlife i.e. Bald Eagles, Stitka Deers and more species of Birds. We will definitely be back
Thanks for the nice review we're glad you enjoyed your stay and you welcome back anytime!
The cottage had everything we needed. Perfect location about 6 miles from town (we rented their Cube car through Turo, too). Comfortable bed, plenty of plates, glasses, pots and pans and utensils. The driveway is steep, but the Cube went up it just fine! The porch view of Refuge Cove is great. We lucked out with great weather and enjoyed coffee outside some mornings. Some of my Alaskan family came over to visit, too, and loved the cottage.
There is something for everybody in Ketchikan. If you are an adventurer we have Kayaking, zip lining, hiking, floatplane tours, Duck tours, plus Shopping for that just right Alaska gift can be found at the many unique shops in the downtown area. Fisherman will be in heaven - Charter boats are available as well as the boat rentals for the do it yourselfers who are itching to try their hand at catching that record breaking Salmon or Halibut!
