3 Bedroom Cottage In Seaside Village Of Pine Point Maine

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,200 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 - 180 nights

About the property

3 Bedroom, 1 Bath. Harbor Views, Walk To Beach

This property is the ideal location for boating, fishing, swimming, and beach walking. The living room window overlooks the harbor and town pier. Walk to the pier to buy lobsters at the fisherman's co-op, eat at the seafood restaurant, or fish from the pier. Launch your paddle or motor boat at the boat dock.

If you are a nature lover or birder, bring your spotting scope and binoculars. We are located on a major stopover site for migrating shorebirds starting in mid-July. Less than 2 miles away on the Pine Point Rd, is the Maine Audubon Nature Center where you can rent canoes for a guided tour of the largest marsh in Maine.

The best thing about our location is its proximity to the northern end of a 7-mile stretch of white sand beach that extends to the popular resort town of Old Orchard Beach and beyond. Walk two blocks using right of ways from the house to access the beach.

The house has two bedrooms on the first floor with two twin beds in each. Upstairs is a loft with a queen bed, sitting area and skylights.

The kitchen opens up to the living room. The bathroom with shower stall is on the main floor.

About Peggy Friar and Bernie Smith

We are brother and sister and spent summers here for many years. Our parents built the house in 1972 and retired here. We have always loved Pine Point and the house and we know you will too.

Peggy Friar and Bernie Smith purchased this cottage in 1972

Why Peggy Friar and Bernie Smith chose Pine Point

We own this property because of its close proximity to the beach and the harbor. We love kayaking, fishing, motor boating, and birding. Our house is a wonderful place to be any time of year.

What makes this cottage unique

Our cottage offers the best of two worlds, a deep-water harbor and miles of sand beach. Whatever you like to do at the seashore, you can do it here.

Wish I could stay forever!

We had the best time in this cottage! It was so homey and cosy...the classic beach cottage I can always remember going to as a kid. The house is right on the marsh so you have a beautiful water view and just a few blocks from our favorite beach. The neighborhood is perfect and quiet at the very end of pine point so if you have young kids who love biking like I do they can go and be perfectly safe. We are big into kayaking and you can launch into the marsh right across the street. You can even take the tide out to the beach and then ride it in back to the house. Every morning I would take a cup of coffee and walk down to the boat launch and just be at peace looking at the water and boats. And the back deck is the perfect spot for happy hour margaritas! There are several great seafood places in walking distance, but you can get into trouble like us because it takes about 5 minutes to walk to the Salty Bay which has the BEST chowder and fried seafood (I think we did that everyday). You also can walk to a trolley stop in 10 minutes if you want to go into downtown OOB. It was perfect and we can't wait to go back! Oh and Peggy is the sweetest most hospitable hostess ever! Thank you so much for sharing this slice of heaven with us!

Lovely place!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 5, with 3 teenagers. We all loved the place with a sunny backyard. In front of the harbor and walking distance to the Pine Point beach. The kids could cycle to Old Orchards. Perfect for our needs!

A great cottage for a vacation home base

  • 5 of 5

For our family, this cottage has all the features for comfort and ease of living. Both the beach and restaurants are within easy walking distance (3-5 minutes for all). Also, the setting is great, and the community is friendly. A great choice for those who appreciate this area of Maine!

A very quaint clean getaway home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

Showed up to the home to find a welcoming note and coffee for us. There were notes as to what we needed. The place was very clean and tidy. The owner showed up and gave us a booklet with information about things to do in the area and let us know about some personal things that went a long way . There was plenty of room for all of us and the view from the living room window at night was excellent for sunsets. The outside deck was excellent to have our dinners after using the grill that is there. Great location because it is not far from all that is going on in the area. It is also within walking distance of not one but four different locations that serve great Seafood. Overall great experience and we are looking forward to renting it again next year.

Little slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at this little slice of heaven. There is a view of a working harbor from the cozy house and a very short walk to the beach...probably 5 minutes... and about the same walk or less to Bayley's for a very good lobster roll. 20+ minute drive to Portland and all of the restaurants and activity is has to offer in the Old Port. Our favorite times though were going for runs on the beach and then a big breakfast every morning on the deck. Temps were high for this time of year in Maine (was mid to high 80's in early September) but a sea breeze kept the air fresh and feeling cooler almost every day. Couldn't have asked for it to have been any cleaner. Nice hot showers and laundry facilities were a plus. Owner was exceptional at making sure we had everything we needed and was immediately available when we had a few questions. Enjoyed it so much we have already asked for it again for next year. It will make the predicted cold winter easier thinking of spending another week there next year. Thank you so much. We loved it and can't wait to return.
