Absolutely Breathtaking

When my family chose this cozy cabin in the heat of Summer 2016 we were praying that we didn't have to do a snow dance since we booked our stay so far in advance.

With that worry behind us due to the non-stop snow this season in the Sierra's of course the next thing to stress about would be our accommodations. When we arrived to the home and opened the door it put the pictures online to shame.

The views are so picturesque we thought we were staring up at a movie set. Nothing beats eating breakfast at a table in front of nothing but windows focusing on powder covered peaks.

Everything in the home was arranged and decorated with taste. The finishes in the home make you feel like you're staying in a luxurious home and not a cabin in the middle of what feels like nowhere. The rooms were nice size. Plenty of sleeping places for at least 6 people. The quarters are optimal for a family looking for a place that feels like home. Bring nothing with you other than food if you intend to cook. This cabin has all of the supplies from cookware to flatware, and of course the essential coffee maker. Be sure to use the fireplace to keep you nice and toasty.

Last but not least, I have to give a big thank you to our host Carol. When we initially inquired about the property it was so far in advance that she had to save the dates to accomodate us. When we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. She made sure everything was done to perfection including snow removal. Thank you Carol!

My family and I established this tradition in 2015. This was our second annual trip to June Mountain. I will be coming back for many years to come, and this will be our home base. I trust that you will enjoy your stay as much as we did. Cheers!

Fantastic house in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 recently enjoyed a 3 night stay at this wonderful, new home! Incredible mountain views from almost every window of the house. House was tucked away in a forest like neighborhood which provided a seclusive vacation experience!

Heads up- no blow dryer and we had to tape about 10 electrical outlets on floor so baby would not put fingers in.

Truly a wonderful place, we hope to get back in the summer!

Great VRBO 10 min from June Mt Ski

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this great house on Pres. day weekend 2016 with two parents and three elementary aged children. It is ten minutes from the mountain and we were able to get up J1 before the crowds every day. The house is very nice and inviting. We would definitely recommend this to our friends. The price is similar to other places we've stayed in the valley but much higher quality and bigger.

Pros.

Great appointed open and airy kitchen

Great room with cathedral ceilings for family movies after skiing

Downstairs bedroom with bunk bed and two twins for kids

Powerful hot water heater

Laundry

Gas fireplace

DVD & Large flat screen TV

Cons

No wifi

Outside parking

Yosemite 2015

  • 5 of 5

This is our regular Yosemite base camp. It's always neat, clean and stocked. Robin called me after our first night to make sure everything was just right. He and Deborah really care that you are comfortable and satisfied. There is no reason to look anywhere else for accommodations when we visit Yosemite. This cabin has it all: plenty of room, well furnished, beautifully built and very clean. In the evening after a day of hiking, we enjoyed watching mule deer right off of the deck. The views of the mountains are spectacular as well. It's in a great location for visiting the northern end of the park as well as Mammoth and some of the surrounding towns. We hope to spend many more nights in this wonderful cabin. Robin and Deborah, thank you so much for helping make our Yosemite vacations special. Mike & Jeanne Mayo, Virginia

Great house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This house is the perfect home base for exploring the June Lake loop and surrounding areas. Silver Lake and Rush Creek (our favorites) are a short walk or bike ride away. It was very comfortable for 2 couples to stay for a week, with room to spare. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything that we needed and were very clean. Never did figure out the fireplace thermostat and could have used a reading lamp downstairs, but these made little difference in our overall enjoyment of the house. The current management company went out of their way to make our rental work for us and we were all very pleased. I definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting a beautiful place to come home to after a day of hiking, kayaking, fishing, boating, biking, or anything else. Just terrific!

Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

The house was really well done, clean, well furnished, fancy folded towels in bathroom with hotel-like shampoo, conditioner and lotion, very comfortable beds and well provisioned. The view was extraordinary and it was delightful. One thing that would make it better would be a binder about some of the house-operating information .i.e. living room lights/fans which have a remote we didn't find for three days, heating and air-conditioning controls and what to do with garbage. They were between management companies so that might have been the issue. One big watchout...and again that may be fixed by now....going up the front entrance stairs which have a rail, the next part of the porch, right across from the front door has no rail and in the dark or if one was unsteady or not paying attention, one could fall right off the porch. There is no railing on the porch which would only be a big deal with little children. In spite of those issues, the house was very workable.
