Leave your worries behind and soothe your mind, body, and soul. Let us make relaxation your priority. Nestled in a tranquil cove on the lakefront of the beautiful 900 acre Wood Creek Lake in London, Kentucky.
Wood Creek Lake is home of the Kentucky state record large mouth bass at 13 lbs, 10 oz. If fishing is your thing, then it doesn't get much better than this lake. There are two main forks, Wood Creek & Gillis Branch; however, the lake is too narrow for some water activities as it is a 'no-wake' lake (in other words, no high speed watercraft including wave runners/jet-skis. Water skiing is prohibited.
Swimming is not encouraged, but it is allowed around cabin docks. All children under 18 should wear life jackets while in the water. The water is very deep on this end of the lake with potential hazards due to falling trees, etc.
While our guest, you may want to take in some sights such as Cumberland Falls National Park, Historic Berea, Kentucky, and Camp Wildcat Civil War Battlefield.
Cabin features 3 bedrooms(All Queen), 2 on first floor with full bathroom, 1 on second floor with full bathroom, remote controlled electric fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, gas grill, fire-pit, hot tub for 5, and private dock.

About James and Sarah Johnson
We have lived in London all of our lives. We are both retired after years of teaching and telephone work.
James and Sarah Johnson purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why James and Sarah Johnson chose London
We fell in love with our own cabin on this lake, and we decided to build this rental to allow others to enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of Wood Creek Lake.
What makes this Cabin unique
It is a quiet, peaceful lake. Very little traffic and lots of privacy.

This was a very clean, well located, and pleasant rental. We really enjoyed our stay. House was laid out perfectly for a bigger group. The lake was very nice, and we were sad it was too cold to fish. We stayed here for a trip to wildcat offroad park and there was plenty of parking at the home for 2 trucks and 2 trailers. It is also only a short drive to the offroad park. The owners were very kind and helpful.
Only suggestions we had for next stay, because we would stay again:
1. The lock box was hard to open
2. There is a pack of 4-5 dogs that run in the neighborhood and they would be on the deck everytime we went outside. One growled at my son, so I didn't allow him to come back out. The other dogs seemed super friendly.
3. There were several cameras outside the home, one pointing at the hot tub, it made us feel very weird at first. But after we met the owner we felt more at ease. You just always wonder who could be watching, but the couple seemed very nice.
4. The Wi-Fi is not very good at the home, we couldn't use the roku (no satellite available) the whole time, unless we ran it off of our phone hotspot.
5. There were rules posted everywhere. It would have been nice to have it all in an email or a large binder.
But overall. This was a wonderful place to stay.
The cabin was very nice and clean! The views and hot tub were great. The only major issue is that the circuit breaker for the living space would go about once every few hours, even when just the lights were on in the living space. Even so the place was really lovely!
Firepit memories will last a lifetime
excellent facilities and easy drive to get away from rat race
The house is cute! And clean! We came to see our daughter and son in law for Thanksgiving and it worked out perfect. Firepit was great, lake was beautiful and the hot tub was very nice. The deck was great to sit out on.
A couple things would help make the stay better...
--We came at night, it was very hard to get the keys out of the box. The light on the porch does not reach to see those tiny little numbers. I HIGHLY suggest getting a key pad door handle, we get a code and just have to enter the numbers that are lit up...they are only $99 at Menards...simple step to save your guests the pain of that key box!
--The fridge barely keeps the food cold...needs to be looked at.
--The power went out 2x when we arrived...annoying...but didn't happen after that.
--The kitchen supplies could use an update...mixer didnt work, measuring cup leaks, coffee takes 15 minutes to make, no wisk or kitchen scissor or knives to chop etc. with (just some cheap steak knives). Can opener did not open cans, rusted. We went to the dollar store and bought a whole bunch of kitchen utensils to use. A griddle would be nice. Front left burner on stove does not work. The bath towels are cheap, they do not wrap around you.
--There are 2 black dogs that bark and run all over when you arrive or any time you are outside...they stole my turkey breast off the deck! Luckily I had another whole turkey to use...my fault for leaving it outside. Kinda annoying...however they are friendly.
--There are notes all over the house with different instructions for things...a 3 ring binder with everything in one place would be nice.
--We had no cell service so we did not call the owners with any of these concerns...I'm sure they would have taken care of them if they could have. We realized that over Thanksgiving getting someone to service the fridge and fix the oven would not be realistic. We made it work.
--I would of liked a little more "cush" on the beds. The mattress was quite firm and there was no cushioned mattress cover, which would of been nice.
--Over all this is a nice home. I feel a rental home should be in tip top shape and have everything you need when you are paying a premium to stay there.
--Kentucky is beautiful and we loved it!
Breath Taking getaway
What an amazing location and Cabin. This a hiden gem and must be enjoyed. Cought couple good size cat fish and bass.
Thank you, we are happy you had a good time. We also appreciate the review.
Beautiful lakefront cabin
Thus is a beautiful cabin in a private setting. It is exactly as pictured. The kitchen is very well stocked and the beds are comfy. We especially liked how the back porch led to the screened in hot tub which was very clean. The stairs were easy to navigate to get to the lake. We were disappointed to find that there was no canoe or kayak onsite to use even though it was listed as one of the amenities. There is a marina that rents them though. We enjoyed the use of the fire pit and the gas grill. We appreciated the supply of kindling and paper to start the fire in the fire pit. We would definitely stay here again.

Additional information about rental rates
The cabin has 3 queen beds. For more than 6, I can provide two twins, or one queen air at a fee: twins, $25.00 each, or queen $50.00. I must know exactly how many people will be there and your choice of air mattresses. Maximum occupancy is 8. For 8 people, I need to know exactly which air mattress/mattresses you will need. If there are more more than the number your give me, money will be deduced from your damage deposit.
