GREETINGS: Thank you for viewing our site. If you are seeking accommodations for a visit to Shands Hospital, a football game, UF graduation or a special event, this is a perfect place for you and your family or friend. There is lots to do in this area from sports, nature attractions, theater and arts to name a few. This condo is part of a condo community with residents primarily comprised of medical, dental, veterinary, nursing students and other professionals working at UF and Shands. The condo is one block from Shands Hospital, across the street from the VA Hospital, two blocks to UF Campus and College of Veterinary Medicine. It is on a bus line to downtown and other parts of Gainesville. If you are visiting someone in Shands, attending a function at UF, going to a Gator game, or contacting a business colleague in Gainesville, this is a great place to stay for a weekend, week or month.

ACCOMMODATIONS. This is a spacious 575 sf condo with a large bedroom; walk-in closet, queen luxury bed, chest of drawers with matching headboard, ceiling fan, bedside table, bed linens provided. The bedroom is furnished to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. There is one bathroom, tiled with tub/shower, a grab bar for safety and towels furnished. The kitchen is furnished with large refrigerator, dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, coffee post, blender, electric can opener, all dishes and cooking utensils, a table and 4 chairs -- everything you need to parpare a meal or warm it up in the microwave. The living room has a large comfortable sofa which can be used for sleeping, a matching love seat, 50 inch flat screen TV, cable, internet and wireless -- everything you need to relax or work on your laptop. A large picture window gives you a view of parkway/green space. The condo sleeps two comfortably the bedroom and another on the sofa.

PREMISES: There are two pools with spacious decks and sun bathing chairs. Further there are two laundry facilities with large washers and dryers. There is night lighting in hallways and on grounds. Parking is for residents and guests only. A parking pass is provided to condo guests.

OWNER OPATED: Owner lives near by and can be reached if needed. Manager is also available if needed.

PARKING, BUSLINES, THINGS TO DO IN GAINESVILLE: Parking is monitored for guests and residents only. Bus line to locations downtown and shopping malls. Restaurants nearby on Archer Road, Newberry Road, and shopping malls. Easily accessible from US 75 and Highway 441. A guide to restaurants and things to do in Gainesville will be mailed upon receipt of reservation. You can always call the owner with specific questions.

About Elizabeth Bolton

As a husband and wife team, we (Jim Post and Elizabeth Bolton), have owned and managed residential rental properties for about 30 years. Vacation rentals are a relatively new endeavor and we find that it is exciting to accommodate short term visitors with different needs and requirements. Jim is originally from New Jersey and grew up in Miami before pursuing a career in electrical engineering. His work took him to many places before coming to Gainesville. As a native Floridian and a recently retired UF professor, I believe Gainesville is absolutely the best place in Florida to live, learn and enjoy life. The community is vibrant and the student population keeps us young at heart. And when you need them, the medical facilities are without equal. We strive to meet the needs of our rental residents both short and long term. Our goal is to provide you with lodging that will make your stay comfortable and satisfying so that when you return to the area you will want to stay with us. Great Location to Shands!

I rented this unit & another one for 10 days from Elizabeth as my husband was having Surgery at Shands. The location was perfect as I could walk to & from the hospital (took 10 min.). The unit was clean, well maintained & cozy. Elizabeth was great to deal with, very professional & she has a kind heart. Thank you! AS

Comfortable, Convenient, Clean

We found this property to be very comfortable and well suited for our stay in Gainesville. The owner was accessible when we had questions or needs. The only thing I would mention is the fact that it was not as quite a location as we thought, as it is close to a busy road and there was some sidewalk and pool work being done at the time of our stay. Aside from that it fit our needs very well.

Wonderful Experience!

I had the opportunity of staying at this condo for 10 weeks while working as a traveling physical therapist in Gainesville. The condo is conveniently located within walking distance to Shands and also very close to the VA. Elizabeth has taken very good care of this property, and is readily available to assist with any problems that may arise. I returned from work on a Friday evening one day to find the AC was out due to a storm that had hit the day before, and Elizabeth was able to have it back on and running within just a few hours. She also made the effort to bring me an additional parking pass when a friend came to visit. This condo is also very conveniently located right next door to the laundry facilities, minimizing the hassle. Overall I had a wonderful visit to Gainesville and I would highly recommend this condo, whether for a weekend or an extended stay.

Basic but very useful and convenient

Apartment itself was very basic, imaging a one bedroom Holiday Inn Suite with a separate kitchen. It was very well appointed in the kitchen with everything needed for 4 people if you wanted, although very small for 4 (if blow up put in living room). Very clean but VERY noisy heating / air conditioning unit. Complex quiet but heard every step of the people above. The one block to Shands Hospital and the southern tip of the University made it very convenient and location may it easy to get to most other Gainesville locations. Still would not pay any more than the asking rate.

Owner's Response: Kathleen, thank you for letting me know about the noisy heater unit. Had I known while you were there I would have taken care of it immediately. About the upstairs tenant, I believe she is new and perhaps a knock on the door with a suggestion to walk softly would have helped. Again, I would have done this had I known. I was unaware that you were having 4 people as only you and your husband came to see the apartment before you rented it in December. I have a two bedroom condo in the same complex that would have been perfect for two people and about twice the size of the one you rented. As you know January and February are very busy months and I had reservations already made and could not accommodate your request to stay for an extra month. I hope you found something that was suitable. Thank you for staying in my condo and I appreciate your suggestion about the heater and the upstairs tenant. I will strive to remedy both of these situations before the next guest arrives. Guest comments are always welcome and helpful.

Excellent accommodations in Gainesville, FL

We had a difficult time locating the apt in the dark. The building is not well lit or marked.

Inside the accommodations were lovely and in good condition. Sheets were on sideways when we arrived, but that was easy to change.

The apt was well located for our medical needs at Shands. Price was not affordable on "game weekend". Would like to see a "deal" for full week plus game weekend.

The condo is centrally located close to downtown and the University of Florida. US 75 is about 3 miles and easily accessible for trips to central and south Florida for day trips or weekends. Try and visit the butterfly garden and the museum of natural history on the UF Campus for some really unusual displays that are unique in this part of the South. The cold water springs are a natural wonder and these are found in this part of Florida in abundance. Be sure to visit as many as you can as all are different. Once you swim in one of these you will never forget it. Also try tubing down the Itchetucknee River that separates Suwannee and Columbia County. The temperature will guarantee deep blood circulation for several hours after you get out. Do this only in summer months!! There is so much to see and do in this part of the state that gives a flavor of north Florida which is so different from the central and southern part of the state. Do drive around and get a view of the many heritage oaks that are native to our area. Everyone loves them and even the developers strive to protect them. Go see the alligators in the Paynes Prairie preserve. These guys are for real and they are huge. Don't worry, you can't feed them and they are fenced off but the habitat is all natural and exciting to see. Then you will know why the UF team is the Florida Gators!!

RATES: A two day minimum stay is required but the longer you stay the less you pay. The standard rate is $125 per night and $500 for football weekends, graduation, and other high profile events. Rates are $605 weekly, $1665 monthly and includes all taxes. ONLINE PRICING QUOTES THAT INCLUDE SPECIAL EVENT WEEKENDS WILL BE ADJUSTED FOR WEEKLY OR MONTHLY STAYS. PLEASE CALL OWNER IF YOUR QUOTE FOR STAYS LONGER THAN A WEEKEND DOES NOT REFLECT THESE PRICES. Additional property protection insurance is available and is encouraged if children are part of your party. Rates are subject to change until reservation is confirmed with full payment. Cancelled reservations will not be refunded unless the property is rented for time cancelled in which case 50% will be refunded.
