About the Property

Situated on many acres, the Cottage has 2 bedrooms/2 baths with lovely views.

Enjoy this beautiful custom newly built 4-season cottage style home located on the Sheepscot River. A gently sloping lawn leads to the banks of the River, the dock, and Long Pond Lake, two of Maine's beautiful and interesting bodies of water.

Centrally located in Midcoast Maine to the cities/towns of Augusta, Belfast, Rockland, Camden, Lincolnville, Boothbay, and Damariscotta, there is shopping, waterfront activities, restaurants, concerts, museums, parks, and hiking within a 20-40 minute drive. Canoes and kayaks take the paddler downstream into the 2.5-mile pond; a dock is conveniently located in the river for easy access to use the canoes and kayaks.

This home has all the modern conveniences while affording its guests an authentic Maine riverside vacation experience. The surroundings are privately located on multiple acres. Two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, sleeps 4. Two café style tables/chairs on the porch and the property has an outdoor fire pit that includes split firewood situated on the riverbank with comfortable lawn chairs. The front porch faces the river and the lake.

***In addition to summering at the cottage, we also rent during the beautiful fall foliage season. Winter brings snowmobiling (near the property), ice fishing, and cross country skiing opportunities. WE HOST YEAR-ROUND.

Year Purchased: 2014

About: I have lived most of my life near or on the water in Maine. There are many special places to visit and spend time, such as on the Sheepscot River where there is rejuvenating quietude and opportunities to be on the water.

Why Somerville, ME, USA:
My sons completed building the River Cottage in 2014 as a legacy home for us and travelers to enjoy a special environment surrounded by engaging nature and quietude. The property is central to the areas of Augusta, Rockland, Belfast, and Camden.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
We are in love with our home because it is immersed in nature with unique vegetation, a natural setting, and opportunities to spend time in and on the water. Wildlife such as deer, beavers, birds, moose, and other critters may be seen in the neighborhood. Relax on the chairs, porch, lawn, or picnic table!
