About the property

4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 12

Beach or pool? Pool or beach? You’ll never have to choose at Parkdale Venice House. This gorgeous 4-bedroom house on Venice Island boasts a private, heated pool and is just a few minutes’ walk to the golden shore.

Just as close and equally tempting are the intrigues of downtown Venice. A historic town, over a hundred years old, it has lovely architecture and provides plenty to explore.

Solve the headache of planning your large group or family vacation - this massive house sleeps twelve guests and welcomes pets as well. The heart of the house is its large backyard heated pool and surrounding patio. Gardens add a lovely touch of tropical living.

The pool area is fenced for your peace of mind, keeping out both kids and pets when unsupervised. Wireless high-speed Internet is a necessity these days and any iPhone or laptops users will be happy to have it while staying at Parkdale Venice House.

The home’s four bedrooms sleep ten guests in two king beds, a sleeper sofa, and two sets of twin beds. Another sleeper bed accommodates two more. The master suite shows off its new furniture in great natural daylight. A family of four will love having this space as a private home-within-a-home. Its king bed is very comfy and the sleeper sofa is perfect for kids. There’s a private en suite bathroom and lots of storage includes roomy dressers. A large closet in each room allows you to fully unpack and feel at home.

New furniture in the second bedroom is very nice. Guests here have a large king-sized bed and their own en suite bathroom as well. Bedrooms three and four are very flexible as they both have a set of twin beds. Three full-sized bathrooms all feature showers, and one both a bathtub and shower.

Enjoy time together in the living room, where you’ll happily stretch out on the new couch to enjoy any TV or movie you like - both cable and a DVD player are provided. For time outside, there’s both a large patio with ample seating and the screened lanai. This is a living room and patio combined - the best of both worlds!

Keep your cool with central air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout. Should you wish to do laundry, a washer and dryer are found in-suite. This house is fully prepared for beach living. A separate laundry wash basin is ideal for washing off sandy shoes or bathing suits. Heating is available for cooler winter nights.

With a group of this size, you’ll have a ready-made party at any hour and this house easily provides. A fully stocked kitchen includes all appliances, dishwasher and disposal as well. Located on a quiet residential street you’ll feel far removed from a noisy resort, yet are still so close to everything that matters.

Tons of parking in the private driveway means there’s room for everyone if you arrive separately. Past guests have been pleased to fit four cars and a small trailer. Explore the local area on Google Maps: 312 Parkdale Drive, Venice, Florida 34285.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My perfect vacation. The homes i have rented from Steve Milo over the years have been wonderful as this one was. They are clean, neat, tastefully decorated, in excellent locations, have perfectly stocked kitchens and bathrooms, and are all around wonderful homes you would feel comfortable to stay in or recommend to your family and friends. I have stayed in three different homes and would recommend any of them and Steve's company anytime.

False advertising

My family and I were looking forwarded to spending the holiday weekend together. Once arriving at the house we were severely disappointed. The photos shown are not what the house looks like at all. The house smelled as thought it hasn't been used in months, the furniture was very old, the dining room table & chairs are missing paint, stained and smell. The pool was greenish and not suitable for use. The house exterior was not clean. The windows were dirty and grimy.

We had originally booked to stay Friday-Monday, but cut our stay by a day. The shower in the master bedroom floods with every shower. All of the mattresses were difficult to sleep on. After an exhausting drive we decided to spend at least one night to recover. Sleep was not accomplished. There was a constant beeping to which we discovered was the wifi/cable which weren't working properly either. There were also roaches, spiders and tiene insects found around the house. All of which were alive. We spent as much time as possible away from the house.

We are giving it 1 star because it doesn't allow us to leave no stars. All in all we will not be going back and don't recommend it to anyone.

I really wanted to love it... but it was hard

  • 2 of 5

First the dryer was not working. This home comes with a pool so of course we were going to get in each day so that was a HUGE inconvenience. Unfortunately there were also roaches, the sink works but is taped and just hanging from the holder bc it is broken, the toaster works but did not pop up on it's own so you had to watch it in order to not burn the bread. There were also a lot of spider webs on the screen structure around the pool. I would have called to report the issues but it felt futile from the few calls I had made. You are dealing with a company that is going to give you company answers. They were not very personable. So we just dealt. We wanted to love this house because it was our vacation but it fell short...

Our stay was okay

  • 3 of 5

We had a family getaway and stayed at this home. The location is great pretty close to the beach. It's also close by to publix and pharmacys. The house overall is very spacious and has a great backyard. I only had a few complains. For example, I found a few dead bugs that I did not want to can tell the house is much much older and is in need of maintenance. We had one of the bathrooms that after he first shower it was clogged and we couldn't use it for the rest of the stay. Same for one of the bathrooms it wasn't flushing and we couldn't use at all. The kitchen was also very beat down. The kitchen faucet was broken and was pieced together by tape. For the price it wasn't horrible. It's a good place I just think it needs maintenance but we loved the location and the space we had in the house for the whole family. Overall, it was a great trip but don't think we would stay in this same location again.

Great location and clean, but the pics and the description are misleading!

  • 2 of 5

The good: great and safe location, walk to town, beaches, and parks; everything was super clean (kudos to the cleaning company); plenty of sheets and towels; there is a huge, beautiful tree in the front yard. The bad: Parkdale House will not accommodate twelve people unless someone is willing to sleep on ancient, sticky couches or on the floor; as a family of six, we fit nicely. The ugly: this place is WORN OUT; screens are torn everywhere; the interior furniture sags; the exterior furniture is broken; appliances are OLD; plumbing fixtures are from 1962; the online pictures are completely misleading and were probably taken ten years ago. Bottom line: we were happy with the location, and we dealt with the icky, rundown nature of the property, but we would never go back unless this house was completely renovated. May not be bad for college kids, but families that are used to nice properties should proceed with caution.

Needs TLC

  • 2 of 5

Needs to have sheets and bed linens updated along with stove and dishwasher. Wifi was down the five days we stayed with no one available to come and look at. Pool was dirty and heater broken for two days of stay. Deck chairs moldy. Air was not working at check in for a few hours but they did get someone out to fix that night. Have stayed at other places from vrbo and enjoyed but disappointed with this one for cleaning fee and how much it was. This places needs work. Would not recommend again.
