An incredible combination of being close to nature and close to downtown Sandpoint, Lake Pend O'reille, Schweitzer Resort and all the activities. From this private wooded sanctuary, it is an easy 4.5 mile drive along a residential road to the downtown shops, dining and City Beach.
Perfect 'cabin-in-the-woods' setting with 5 acres of beautiful mature trees, a trail to a pristine creek, and lots of wildlife. The expansive decks and covered porch are ideal for listening to the creek, barbecuing, soaking in the hot tub, enjoying campfires, or lounging in the sun. No other homes are visible from the yard, which enhances the feeling of privacy.
This cozy home has plenty of room for relaxing, dining and spending time together. The great room contains recliners, sofa, a glass-front wood stove, and a 6-seat dining table. There is another 6-seat table in the kitchen. There is a main floor bedroom with queen bed and attached bathroom and the loft holds two sleeping areas and a half bath. One upstairs bed area has a queen log bed and twin bed. The other bed area has a twin bed and a twin log bunkbed.
Whether you spend your day adventuring around the area, hiking, shopping, dining, boating, skiing, or simply relaxing and not going anywhere, this home offers a wonderful feeling of comfort and beauty.
Please note that as this is intended as a peaceful getaway, there is no television or internet at the cabin. There is cell phone service. During winter months, a four-wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended.
We have lived in far north Idaho near the Canadian border for ten years, coming via Alaska and the midwest (Go Packers!). We have built two of our own log homes. We love this area and all it has to offer. We particularly enjoy hiking with our dogs, Telemark and cross- country skiing, snowmobiling, and paddling. Jim builds log furniture (featured in the cabin) and plays the banjo and guitar. Lisa has done extensive backcountry travel in the region, loves to garden and hike with the dogs.

This cabin is located in such an ideal place. It is surrounded by about everything there is to enjoy about the Sandpoint area. The cabin and property have a really great vacation vibe. We feel it is a great place to share with others who appreciate the area.
Sitting on the deck and listening to the creek and the birds in the dappled sunlight.... cozying up to a warm fire in the woodstove after a fall hike...maximizing the long summer days with a late evening campfire and s'mores.... making waffles for breakfast!...soaking in the hot tub after a long day skiing at Schweitzer resort...giving the kids a chance to sleep in a log bunkbed...biking into town for the day to shop and dine...strolling down to the creek to look for birds...the list goes on...
We appreciate all the little extras in your place. thanks again!
My husband and two young boys (3 & 5) stayed here for a week. We loved every minute of our stay! The cabin is so quiet and cozy. The beds are comfortable, with lots of pillows and blankets. Everything we needed in the kitchen was there, actually anytime we looked for anything we needed we found it. The owners have really thought of everything trying to accommodate total relaxation and comfort for their guests. Its extremely peaceful outside surrounded by thick forest, with a wonderful trail that leads down to a stream on the property. Fire pit was awesome, the owners had lots of wood ready for our use. Last but not least the hot tub was an added bonus that we enjoyed each evening. We're sold on staying here every year.
Turnipseed was a cozy, well equipped cabin to spend a week with family. Thoroughly enjoyed both the inside and outside. Lisa has done everything possible to make this a great place to spend some time.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The owners have thought of everything you might need for a good stay. The deck and spa were amazing to relax after a day of sightseeing. Furniture is comfortable as well as beds. Fun family vacation home.
We absolutely loved the cabin! It had everything you could want or need for a relaxing weekend getaway! We will definitely be back!
The photos and description of this process don't do the cabin justice. What a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. I think we found our new favourite retreat!
