About Helena Stapf

I grew up here, graduating from Chimacum 1-12. The Oak Bay house sits on property that has been in the family since 1873, where my great grandfather farmed it. My grandparents lived in this one time Boat House , and remodeled it for there home. The home then went to my uncle. My parents and my sister would come down to the beach every summer. We had so much fun playing on the beach and the rocks. In 1963 my parents built there home to the South of Grandma and Grandpas house. My uncle passed away in 2013, then the beach house became mine.. Growing up on the Beach has been a memory that I will always treasure. Some day it will belong to the next generation. My sister owns the house next door. My other Uncle owns just past her along with cousins past him, and up above. One of my cousins owns the house up on the hill, that he rents out, Named: Oak Bay Getaway.

I have lived in Jefferson County all my life and my Husband and I live in Port Townsend.

Fantastic Beach Home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Beach House the middle of August to visit family and friends and could not have found a nicer place. We had our kayaks and put them in the water 40 feet from the back porch. Don't do at low tide. Great place to kayak. It has everything you need just like home. The kitchen is the best equipped we have ever been to. Right on the water and what a view. The owner is an easy and fun person to communicate with. We had a great time and hope to return. Great Beach House

Quarter Horse LN

Very comfortable place to stay. We spent a week here and this is by far the best vacation house that we have stayed in. The queen bed was very comfortable and having TV's in the bedrooms was a plus. Very nicely furnished and decorated.

We had fun meeting the owner and sitting around the fire pit and chatting with the neighbors.

We will be back!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures of the beach house do not do it justice! We were visiting family in the area and decided we wanted to make our visit a mini vacation for my husband and I. We got in late in the evening and there was a welcome note on the door and a light on inside. My first impression when we walked in was how clean it smelled! The beach house is immaculately kept up. The house is very comfortable, nicely appointed, nicely landscaped and the view is amazing! I especially enjoyed the artwork in the house...all beach themed and very nicely done. The furnishings and linens were very nice and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking and dining. I love to cook and entertain so we had dinner there 3 out of the 4 nights we stayed. We got lucky that the weekend we were there-the weather was perfect. We enjoyed a small BBQ with family and the lawn area was perfect for that. There is a nice grocery store just a few miles away. It is very conveniently located to beach areas, hiking and sightseeing. The owner was extremely easy to work with. We have rented various vacation homes over the years and this is one of the nicest for the price. I wasn't ready to leave...I know we will be back!

Beautiful rental property, great location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently stayed at the beach house, my husband and son are going back in a few weeks. Let me first say that I don't think pictures can do it justice. We were amazed at the location when we pulled up to the property, it is just steps from the beach and Oak Bay. There are even stairs in front of the house leading down to the beach. The house itself is wonderful, clean, inviting, nicely furnished and well stocked. The house was very clean and well stocked with all the supplies we needed for our week stay. We had such a relaxing enjoyable stay. In the mornings we were able to enjoy fishing birds, harbor seals and sunrises right from the kitchen table while having a cup of coffee. In the evenings we took walks along the beach and enjoyed the moon on the bay. We also enjoyed sailboats, kayaks and boats in the bay. Also from the location we could see large cargo ships and we think it was a cruise ship in the puget sound heading to and from Seattle area. The house is also located close to restaurants in Port Hadlock and Chimacum area, in addition to being close to Port Townsend. The beach house was a great place to stay as when we were done adventuring all day we were able to get away and just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Pacific Northwest. The owner was extremely easy to work with and was fast in responding. One added note that was a nice surprise is that the owner has compiled extensive information on the area and families in the area and has left this information in the house. To me that was a nice touch and we enjoyed seeing early pictures of the surrounding towns and reading about families that had been in the area for such a long time. It was a homey touch, We would highly recommend the beach house, and in fact have booked it for a second stay.

Oak Bay - great getaway

  • 4 of 5

Oak Bay was the perfect go-between location for day excursions west into Olympic Peninsula, SE to Seattle by ferry and North by ferry to Victoria. We got it all done and Oak Bay offered a comfortable, private and peaceful setting at the end of each day. Coming from the east coast, it was great to see otters, eagles, seals and many unusual ducks and birds right from the front porch.

Beautiful Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Oak Bay was a wonderful, peaceful get-away! Perfect location for sightseeing the Pacific Northwest. The house has all the comforts of home for two couples to relax, enjoy nature, fishing, walking the beaches and exploring the beautiful outdoors. We were fortunate to see one beautiful sunrise from the kitchen window :)

Highly recommend!
