About Joe Groebner

We are so glad you are looking to rent our cabin! We purchased this cabin in 2014 and we'll eventually it will be our retirement home. Until then we hope you enjoy it. Joe and Debbie currently live in St. Cloud. We Co-manage a few mortgage banking offices in Central MN. We both grew up in the Twin Cities, Joe attending Mounds View High School and graduating from St. Thomas Debbie attended Osseo High School and then went on to Winona State University. Joe is an avid fisherman and has owned vacation homes on larger lakes such as Pelican, Mille Lacs and Leech Lake, but we're now enjoying the tranquility of a smaller lake like Kimball.

Why Joe Groebner chose Central

After owning cabins on several larger lakes we wanted the peace and quiet of a smaller chain of lakes. You can canoe or kayak up the chain and site see, take in the ladyslippers and natural surroundings. If you're up for a little more adventure the Whitefish Chain is just a mile away. For daytime enjoyment there's Championship golf courses, boating, fishing, canoeing or just hanging by the lake. For evening there's great restaurants and entertainment. All just a short drive.

What makes this cabin unique

The panoramic views are amazing. You have the elivated beautiful view of the entire lake and then lakeside have the beautiful sandy beach and lower grassy area to enjoy. Take a canoe out for a ride or just soak up the sun and relax!

Guestbook comments from the owner

3 day stay was perfect with our 13 year old grandson and 10 year old granddaughter. They spent hours with the canoe! Enjoyed fishing from the dock, the great fire pit and just hanging out. Great property and hope we can do again next year.

Wonderful place for a family getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this lovely home with family. It was perfect for games of cards, preparing meals in the well-stocked kitchen, sitting by the fire, and enjoying the clear water in every capacity. The paddleboard was almost always in use, the canoe was great for some mid-lake fishing and sunset paddles, and the row boat was perfect for rambunctious kids. We spent hours upon hours in the lake and went to bed in the comfortable beds exhausted. The location, amenities, and overall ambiance were perfect. We made the passage to Bass Lake via canoe one evening, and would have gone further with more time. We caught panfish off the dock, and listened to the loons call up and down the lake all morning and evening. The house and property truly had something for everyone. We made some great memories here and would return to this home in a heartbeat.

Wonderful home and property!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin as it had everything and more we needed. Great golf in area, recommend the Legend in afternoon as very reasonable!! Also recommend a boat if want to go fishing on the bigger lakes. Lots of small panfish off the dock that kept the kids casting but nothing to keep. Canooing and paddleboard was great, especially in evening and morning. Also recommend to bring board games and indoor stuff in case of weather. Ping pong tournaments were fun and challenging!!

Beautiful home looking over the lake. Everything you need for your stay.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our week at the lake home. Would do it again. The granddaughters loved playing on the beach and in the lake, fishing off the dock, taking a ride in the canoe. Lovely large yard for our bean bag toss and our picnics under the trees. Found a lake just a few minutes away where we caught walleyes. First time renting a home on the lake and we all agreed it was perfect. Lots of fun and memories.

Great place to vacation

  • 5 of 5

I would definitely recommend this lovely home. It had everything our family needed-all the comforts of home with a nice woodsy touch. We especially enjoyed the sand beach where our kids could play and swim off the shore. The fire pit and stone work are beautiful. We also had a chance to go to the Norway Ridge restaurant you recommended and we loved it!

The only negative feedback I would give is that it would have been nice to know that the lawn service would be coming on a certain day and mosquito spraying on another. We understand it has to be done, but would like to have had a heads up. Otherwise it was fabulous and we hope to go back again sometime!

Exceptional!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Groebner's was nothing short of exceptional! We enjoyed the great fishing, beach, and cabin for 7 nights and found that everything we needed was available. The cabin was clean, very well equipped with plenty of room for our family. We are considering making this our annual family vacation destination. Thank You for sharing your cabin.
