Why Andy Scholl chose Mount Gretna
The cottage was built around 1910 and bought by our parents in the 50s. My 6 siblings and I inherited from them. It is one of many historical cottages in the area where you will find the area to be laid back, relaxing and lots of friendly people.

Cottage is liveable with windows open and fans running. No a/c in 3 of 4 bedrooms and when you close windows for a/c (and when it has been closed up for a while) the mildew smell is overwhelming. Also furniture needs to be cleaned! Upholstery is filthy and surfaces not kept clean (Like cobwebs on the bedside table). You don't need white gloves to check this place, you can see it!
With some work and some love, this could be a stellar property....hope they find a buyer who will take care of it!!
Great week of nostalgia in this magical place
We really appreciated the responsiveness & relaxed attitude of the owner. We have worked with other realtors there who were very strict. The accommodations were satisfactory. Mattresses were not too comfortable. Only one small trash can. We loved the porch. Great location with parking. Good to have air conditioning. We are so appreciative to have had the opportunity to rent here! Thank you Andy & Penny.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I do understand a couple of the beds could have better mattresses. We appreciate your comments.
Thanks for staying at our cottage.

Sweet nostalgia trip!
We were only there for a couple of days, but we really enjoyed this sweet cottage! We spent most of our time on the pleasant porch, with its gingerbread trim and colorful furniture. My husband and I are both architects, and we're especially fond of the wooden architectural details of this kind of cottage, with its beaded board surfaces and quirky details. I'm recovering from a broken leg, and am still using a crutch to get around, (luckily, I can negotiate steps!) so having the porch gave me a pleasant place to sketch and sit. We enjoyed the Sunday morning music and did a jigsaw puzzle on the big kitchen table and relaxed. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen, although we ate out most of the time, was charming and functional. We didn't use the tv or sound system, but the place was well outfitted for someone who would want to do that. We especially appreciated being able to bring our dog. We had two old shelties at the time I made the reservation, but we had lost one by the time we actually took our trip. Our remaining dog enjoyed sitting on the porch with me, watched the passing parade of people, often with their dogs. We would love to return, and stay a bit longer, next time. Thank you so much for a nice escape!
Accommodating hosts, vintage charm and 4 large bedrooms.
The 4 bedroom home was just the right size for us to share with our grandchildren. The porch was the children's favorite spot. The boys played legos on the side porch while the girls giggled and sang as they swung in the porch swing. We loved the vintage decor. When we walked in we immediately felt welcomed. Note one bed was nicknamed the "rolly bed" and was a little bit of a challenge for 2 to sleep on (it felt like a water bed). No problem because there were plenty of beds for everyone. The owners were helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay.
This house is decorated so lovely and has everything you would need to stay for a few days or if you are lucky, a much longer stay. The favorite spot was the swinging bed on the porch. Everyone wanted to nap there! Would highly recommend this place. It was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was so appreciated on the hot days we were visiting.
The cottage has a very homey feeling. I, in particular, loved the feel of the upstairs. Bedrooms are very big. We had four children and the bedrooms had plenty of room for them to play. In addition, there is a playground just down the hill for the children to play. Also, if you go for a walk towards the music center, there is another playground. The community has a few things for everyone. An ice cream shop, a few restaurants, and a souvenir shop. Gorgeous.
When we arrived at the cottage, Matt (Andy's brother) was there to show us around. I found this very helpful as he pointed out things about the home. Matt was friendly, considerate and checked on us to see if we needed anything for our stay. He was never intrusive and got anything we needed for our stay.
We greatly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!!!
