Guestbook comments from the manager

My boyfriend and I booked this cabin to get away from the city life and relax for a few days over the 4th of July. We were expecting a cabin in the middle of nowhere, but were pleasantly surprised at how cute the neighboring towns are, as well as the market, coffee shop, and state park within walking distance. We spent most of our time on the river - we found various spots we could walk or drive to that weren't too crowded. There is also a private charcoal grill behind the house and a great deck looking over the river. We ate dinner on the deck most nights once it cooled off a bit. There is a trail from the back of the house down to the river, with great rocks to sit and drink a cup of coffee early in the morning. After about 10am, those rocks are covered by water when the dam is opened. All in all, we enjoyed our time and will definitely try to come back. The cottage had all the supplies we needed to make our stay comfortable, and was easy to get to from San Francisco. If you are considering booking, go ahead and do it. You won't be disappointed.

Our area is beautiful and there is alot to do, so we choose NOT to have wifi at the cottages, and our guests (once used to it) have thanked us for that. But if necessary, you may travel a short distance to the local cafe or bakery to connect. Please be also aware that cell phone service is limited to verizon in this area. The verizon MiFi mobile jet pack can get you connected as well if you have one or want to purchase one for longer visits.

Just steps to the river!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful two nights at the cottage. Danika and Jeff were very welcoming and helpful. If you need anything, they are quick to respond. We enjoyed splashing in the river and picking blackberries. Good air-conditioner in the kitchen and two tower fans for the other areas. The living room had plenty of reading material and the TV is big enough for a kid to enjoy the videos, though the bedroom does not have a door. Soft bed is a real treat after an afternoon of rafting.

Peaceful and Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Cottage is right on the river, and the access to the water was super easy! Views are magnificent ( I enjoyed coffee on the deck with a few deer) and the property is super clean and well maintained. Excellent recommendations for dinner as well! Property is adjacent to rafting so if you are doing that this is a great place to stay. Loved the historical town of Coloma! Would definitely come back!

A Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My mom, aunt, son and I spent three wonderful days in Coloma and especially loved our stay at the Cozy Riverfront Cottage! The cottage has everything you need to help make your visit comfortable. We spent most of our time hanging out by the river, just a short walk down the hill. We had our own "private" beach for swimming and water play. The sound of the river at night helped lull us to sleep. Our short getaway was just what we all needed! We plan to visit again in the future!

Beautiful place to stop for Gold Country Road Trip

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cottage. We would love to come again. It overlooked the river which was beautiful. The inside of the cottage was great but air conditioning was in kitchen..... perhaps a ceiling fan in living room and bedroom for heat waves liked we encountered. There was a standup fan in bedroom. The kitchen was very well equipped..easy to cook in. The owners we wonderful...very responsive to questions and very helpful and friendly. A definite thumbs up on this cottage.

Best Family Reunion Location

  • 5 of 5

From the very start Danica and Jeff made everyone feel right at home. They met my family at their arrival and gave them an extensive tour of the property. We had rented all four cabins and they let us have the run of the area. They went above and beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend this rental for large groups or individuals looking for a relaxing vacation. River access was great and each cabin was specially decorated and very clean. The kitchens were well stocked with all the basics. Thanks again we all had a gathering to remember.

Perfect place to relax and wind down after a fun filled day of raftin

  • 5 of 5

It is very close to the south fork river rafting sites. Plus its location next to the river with a river deck is great to relax and unwind. It is very historic too. There is great scenery and view of rafters going by.
