PERMIT NO. 14-0156. Guests will definitely feel they have escaped, relaxing in this upper level. condo with a 'pent-house feel.' The decor has been personally selected by the owner and shows pride of ownership.

California Escape is located in the gated community of Ritz Pointe next to the St. Regis Hotel. Guests will enjoy a short picturesque walk to Salt Creek Beach, a premier vacation destination on the 'California Riviera'.

Ritz Pointe/Monarch Hills grounds are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing. There is a pool, 3 spas. The south spa is a great spot to enjoy breathtaking sunsets over a panoramic view of the ocean.

Dana Point is Conveniently located between San Clemente and Laguna Beach, (5 miles each way) and midway between San Diego and Los Angeles (approximately 60 miles each way)

As you enter the condo you will find a well-appointed living room with fireplace, flat screen TV and soundbar, starfish and beach decor. The pictures in this site show the beauty of this professionally remodeled condo

You might start with coffee on the two patios or walk to the St. Regis or Ritz Carlton a short distance away where you can plan your day. Perhaps the spa facilities appeal to you in the hotels.

Don't forget your tennis rackets as the Tennis Villas is across the street. Tennis Villas is a professional tournament style club that offers weekly and monthly passes for guests. There is also a spa, gym and pool there.

There are golf links affiliated with both the hotels open to the public. Ritz Pointe borders the Monarch Golf Links which overlooks the ocean and Salt Creek Beach.

When you take your walk to the beach you pass along the Monarch Links golf course. The walk to the beach is a 1-mile flat walk and takes about 15-20 minutes. Owner provides you with beach cart, beach chairs, umbrella, collapsible cooler and beach towels ready to go for your scenic adventure to the beach.

Our very own Dana Point Harbor offers restaurants and shops. Rent paddle boards and tour the harbor on your own. Whale watching trips go out daily.

Catalina Island is 26 miles across the sea. A fun day of shopping, eating and drinking. Catch the ferry in the harbor. If it is your birthday you sail free !!

One of our favorites is the well-known Ocean Institute. They offer many programs to educate the public on the ocean inhabitants. They offer hands-on experience such as dissecting squids!

You can take a 5-minute drive to Laguna or in the summer a trolley will take you to the art colony of Laguna Beach. Pageant of the Arts and the Sawdust Festival are only a couple of the must-see attractions. Leisurely perusing the shops and art galleries will take you into another state of mind.

San Clemente is filled with fun, fun, fun. Music, art, restaurants, antiquing. Don't miss Del Mar Street Sunday for the Farmer's Market.

High-end shopping is 15 miles away at Fashion Island. Outlet shopping is 20 miles away in Carlsbad. It's all here for you.

Action all day and peaceful place to relax in the evening. The perfect location, the perfect setting.

Great location. Quiet and relaxing.

Spent a wonderful 2 weeks at this condo. Perfect location to travel in any direction. Close to beach, harbor and all attractions. The comforts of home st our fingertips. Only downfall was parking. We didn't have an assigned parking space and most days had to walk quite a ways with our bags, etc. Guest parking spots were few and far between by the time we got in at night. Other than that a fantastic place to stay!

Great Dana Point Condo!

This is our third year visiting the Dana Point area and by far the best condo and location! The condo was clean, comfortable and updated. We loved the walk to the local beach and enjoyed a lot of nearby scenic hikes. This condo fit our needs so well we booked it for a month next year! Excited to escape our northeast winter again in 2018.

Efficient accommodation

My family of three stayed at the condo over the New Year week and found it being comfortable, clean and well equipped. Second bathroom, although not en suite, was very nice to have. Washer and drier in the patio closet were very much appreciated, as we hiked every day, occasionally in mud and mist. Due to rain and cold (mid 50s F) we did not use public pool and hot tub (and they were not heated on the days of our stay), but those facilities looked inviting.

The heating system in the condo is somewhat loud by my standards, and woke me up 2-3 times/night when it kicked-in to maintain 68F. We tried to lower the temperature for night, but guest room was getting too cold then. A comforter instead of knitted blankets would be helpful. Master bedroom felt warmer at any setting and also had a comforter on the bed. When we were gathering for dinner in the evening, we would raise the temperature to more comfortable 72F, and the heater would roar for more than an hour to reach that setting, then turn on/of frequently to maintain it. We did get used to its sound eventually, and we were in very little. This condo was a much better, nicer accommodation than any hotel in the area and the price range anyway.

The nearby beach walk is scenic, and we could walk for at least an hour one-way. Location was strategically advantageous as it allowed us to chase the sun. Due to constantly bad weather we had to drive 1h to San Diego/La Jolla, or 2h to Palm Springs area every day to find a good hiking trail that was not closed due to rain the day before. The best nearby hiking is at Crystal Cove Park/Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, both offer similar views and trails of moderate difficulty. These parks are adjacent, and hikers/bikers can cross from one to another on some trails, but parking at Laguna Park is only $3, while Crystal Cove Park charges $15. I recommend visiting Torrey Pines State Preserve/Beach, only 50 min drive but very different long beach stroll (pebbles!), and cliffs. Free parking along the road before park entrance, but gets full by 11am.

I communicated with AnnMarie via email regarding booking and a few questions, and she always responded very fast. Overall, positive experience with this rental.

Owner's Response: Owner's Notes: Thank you for your nice review of your stay and we are sorry the condo furnace seemed loud. It is a fairly standard heating system for the area, using hot water in coils with a forced air blower to distribute the heat. Luckily, heating and air conditioning is not needed much of the year in coastal SoCal! We are checking on the pools/spas, as the three spas available to guests are always to be heated, as well as the pool. We also are big hiking fans and appreciate you providing good information on the hiking you enjoyed in the greater area. The website is also a great source for selecting hiking trails locally.

My Wonderful California Escape

I recently rented a property from Virbo at Dana Point. It was all I could have hoped for and MORE. Everything that I could possibly need was provided. The home was beautifully decorated, with a private laundry. Swimming pool, gym and beautiful area for viewing the sunset and enjoying the hot tub was provided.It was a gated community where I felt very safe. The price was very reasonable. It was a wonderful vacation spot and I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Great place to stay in Dana Point

Our family of 4, (2 adults, 2 kids), found this condo to be fantastic. Clean, beautiful and welcoming. The unit had everything we needed for a great beach vacation, including beach chairs, boogie board, cooler, beach toys, towels, beach cart (to haul it all) and washer/dryer. The onsite pool was also a hit with the kids! The condo is about 1 mile from Strands beach, though you can walk we found it easier to drive with the kids and beach stuff.

Ann Marie, was very easy to deal with and we appreciated her quick response time to all of our questions. When we arrived and found the grill needed more propane, she had it the next morning. Fantastic service!

The unit is in a perfect spot to access everything Southern California has to offer. Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Disney, San Juan Capistrano etc.

We are already planning our next stay in this beautiful gated community!

Beautiful well thought out rental property in beautiful location!

The condo was beautiful, it was fresh and clean and updated. Dana Point is a beautiful town in Orange County. We were in town to visit family in San Diego, Huntington Beach, mission Viejo and LA. We also wanted to fit a trip to Disney in there, the location was amazing we were right between all of our family no location was too far. The walk to the beach was stunning! There are beautiful views the entire walk down there which is about a 20min walk. The pool was beautiful and heated! The condo came equipped with everything that you could need while being on vacation at the beach! There were beach towels, beach chairs, a beach cart, beach toys, two beach umbrellas and a big cooler bag. There is a washer and dryer right in the condo! I truly can not say enough great things about the rental and Dana Point! I wish I was still at the condo now writing this review from the deck watching the humming birds fly around!

We are located just one mile away from Salt Creek Beach, one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches in Southern California.

The harbor is filled with restaurants, shops and water activities. The Ocean Institute is located in the harbor, a reknowned oceanography learning center open to the public. Laguna Beach art colony is five miles north. Enjoy the Pageant of the Arts and Sawdust Festival. San Clemente to the south 5 miles has great specialty shops and restaurants, and a vibrant downtown.
