Cute, spacious house in fantastic Old Town neighborhood.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed this charming house. We held our family Thanksgiving here, so the large, updated kitchen was a must. The house is quite a bit newer than most of the surrounding Old Town homes, built probably in the 1940's, so the rooms are surprisingly spacious, including a very large laundry room. There are lots of teak chairs so you can easily move the seating around to accommodate the gatherings from room to room, and there are also comfortable overstuffed chairs and a big sofa with two recliners that were perfect for watching the Thanksgiving Day parade and lots of football. The side porch provides a tranquil outdoor sitting space, and if you feel like taking a walk you will find the neighborhood not only stunning with its beautiful historic homes, but also very active with joggers, cyclists, folks walking dogs, etc. There is another rental unit inside the house that was not rented out. Not counting that unit, there were only one and a half baths in the house, so that was a little tight, but the full bath has a nice big linen closet with generous cedar shelves. If you move some of the towels (there are a LOT of nice towels!) you can keep all your toiletries here. There are three or four private apartments in the back of the lot, but they appear to be very well-kept and we had no issues whatsoever with the residents. Jim was great and always just a text away.

Great house and Neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

Our family was in town for a wedding. This was a great place to stay. The neighborhood is walkable and friendly. We walked to the Olde Town area and found a Children;s Museum which our kids enjoyed and of coursed they loved the neighborhood Waffle House. Waffles within walking distance is a big deal when you are a kid. The house was very clean and comfortable. Good experience overall!

Cute House in Old Town

  • 3 of 5

This is a darling little house in a charming and quiet neighborhood. The vine covered side porch is absolutely lovely, and we enjoyed having our morning coffee there. The kitchen was pretty well equipped (we did have to run out and get a corkscrew, though) and there was plenty of room for each of us to have our own space. Because it's a very old house, the electrical outlets are few and far between, so having a couple of extension cords provided would have been helpful with trying to use hair driers, etc. Loose or wobbly legs on dining room chairs made us a little nervous, too. Overall, it was acceptable.

Beautiful home

  • 4 of 5

We visited for my daughter's graduation from Oakwood University. The house was beautiful and clean. Larger that it appeared with a modern kitchen with most everything you need to make you feel at home! Thanks again Jim for the use of your beautiful home!

My family and I were pleased with the property. It was as advertised.

The grounds of the properly were well maintained, - yard mowed and edged. The house was clean and well maintained. More that adequately furnished with all that was needed for daily living.

The location was great for our family, near relatives living in the area.

I would highly recommend the property to others.

Great home! Wonderful for family time.

  • 5 of 5

We had the opportunity to stay at this charming home in Huntsville over Thanksgiving. The house was the perfect size for our family with the bedrooms, gathering area(s) and side porch. Jim (owner) was so attentive to us; when I had any questions, he responded quickly. Once even stopping by to ensure everything met our needs. The area this home is located in was superb. Walking distance to several great restaurants and surrounded by historic beauties. The bonus is that we really didn't have to do anything when we arrived or when we left. Jim handled almost everything! We were given the gift of being able to enjoy our family time together while all of our needs & comfort were provided for. We would absolutely stay in this home again in the future!
