Private and Perfection

  • 5 of 5

We booked a get-away over the holidays for a few days and were so lucky to find Sea Cove...what a GORGEOUS property. It is not only gorgeous but so well outfitted and comfortable. The floorplan is perfection and even during one of the coldest spells, we were cozy and with the most lovely and private views out the huge windows. It's also convenient to plenty of shops and restaurants in Falmouth, but also minutes away from Portland and Freeport - lots to explore. The owners/property managers were extremely responsive and hospitable. It was so amazing to be in a lovely property that is also pet-friendly - what a privilege that I hope all renters respect. I would LOVE to rent again any season.I'm sure every season has wonders to share.

Ringing in the New Year!!!

  • 5 of 5

What a great stay at Sea Cove! I don't know where to begin but the house and location were amazing! We are empty nesters and for Christmas decided in lieu of gifts for our children, that no one remembers the next year, we would start sharing experiences and memories together so we planned a trip to Maine to celebrate the New Year! The house layout was perfect with an open concept on the main floor and plenty of room to gather and cook together in the kitchen and play games and relax in the family room. The accommodations were perfect and everything in the house was very clean, comfortable, in working order and felt just like home!!! The location was perfect as well with an easy drive into Portland. Although it was extremely cold, we bundled up and enjoyed the walking trails outside our doors at the nature preserve and took a quick drive to the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth to take in the most beautiful views. Town Landing Market was a cute store nearby that made you feel like you stepped back in time with friendly people and where the locals stopped to grab coffee. The lobster rolls were delicious as well!!! Linda Kate Lobster and Seafood is where we got our whole lobsters for our New Year's Eve dinner. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and the lobsters and clam chowder were out of this world! In Portland, we enjoyed an amazing Italian dinner at Piccolo with home-made pastas and creative appetizers and sides and we couldn't get enough of the donuts at Holy Donut on Exchange Street. Of course the many brewery tastings were what drove us to the Portland area where we tasted all of our favorite IPA beers. Can't say enough about this trip and our stay at Sea Cove!!!!

Owner's Response: WOW! So glad you and your family had such a wonderful time. Thanks for the great foodie review of Portland.. You didn't miss any of the key spots in our opinion! Lobster rolls and lighthouses even please in the winter! Such a great idea to forego more gifts in exchange for experiences, BRAVO. Everyone loves the open plan at seacove, and the fresh interior decor. Hope you got some of our epic sunsets while you were there. Please come back soon and Happy 2018

Amazing Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our entire family (9 people) stayed at Linda's home for the Thanksgiving holiday and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spot :) The home is wonderfully supplied, laid out and cozy, and the outside environment was exactly what we were looking for. Lots of walking trails and the sunsets were phenomenal. It was honestly 5 days of perfection.

The house and location are simply perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Everything at Sea Cove starts and ends with the spectacular view, which you see from most bedrooms, through the oversized living room windows and from the front porch and yard. Our recent week-long stay was one of the more comfortable and memorable family reunions we've had in recent years, and the view never got old! Not only can you see the lovely Maine Audubon preservation land from every perspective but you can also explore it. The trails were perfect for all the daily walkers and runners in our group.

We also loved the fact that downtown Portland, Scarborough Beach, Mackworth Island and other fun activities like the Adventure Course and Zip Line at Monkey Trunks were all reachable under half an hour. There's also easy access to 295 and Rte. 1 for day trips to points north (Freeport, Popham Beach, Boothbay Harbor, Christmas Cove, Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island, etc.).

The home WiFi was strong and constant, an essential plus for those of us who brought our laptops and work with us but also for the teenagers and their devices. A Sonos home sound system adds a nice touch during meals and after dinner.

The open kitchen and huge island work as well for serious cooks as they do for leisurely breakfasts or cocktail hours. Our extended family of 8 made good use of it and Linda has stocked it with all the essentials.

Our labrador, Cooper, was also in heaven and enjoyed his walks with us around the neighborhood, his time at the nearby Quarry Run Dog Park (just across the Presumpscot River that you see from the house) and also at the Allagash Brewery (dogs are allowed in the outside pavilion).

Falmouth near the town landing is also a charming place to explore, and you can stop in at the Town Landing Market for delicious sandwiches, ice cream and provisions (a huge Shaw's is on Rte. 1 in Falmouth for all the basics). Our favorite local purchase, however, was the seafood we bought at LindaKate Lobster's new retail store, which we discovered by chance across the street from the dog park on Ocean Ave. They supply locally harvested lobsters, crab and shellfish to some of Portland's top restaurants, including Eventide Oyster Co., The Honey Paw and Hugo's. The three dozen oysters we bought and shucked were delicious.

We all were sad to leave this idyllic place and hope to return to Sea Cove again! Thank you, Linda!

Gorgeous and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

This house is stunning. Tucked away overlooking the marsh, this house manages to feel remote while being centrally located to anywhere you'd want to reach in both Falmouth and Portland. There is plenty of room to spread out, and both the decor and scenery were incredible. I cannot say enough positive things about our stay!!
