Amazing Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our entire family (9 people) stayed at Linda's home for the Thanksgiving holiday and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spot :) The home is wonderfully supplied, laid out and cozy, and the outside environment was exactly what we were looking for. Lots of walking trails and the sunsets were phenomenal. It was honestly 5 days of perfection.

The house and location are simply perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Everything at Sea Cove starts and ends with the spectacular view, which you see from most bedrooms, through the oversized living room windows and from the front porch and yard. Our recent week-long stay was one of the more comfortable and memorable family reunions we've had in recent years, and the view never got old! Not only can you see the lovely Maine Audubon preservation land from every perspective but you can also explore it. The trails were perfect for all the daily walkers and runners in our group.

We also loved the fact that downtown Portland, Scarborough Beach, Mackworth Island and other fun activities like the Adventure Course and Zip Line at Monkey Trunks were all reachable under half an hour. There's also easy access to 295 and Rte. 1 for day trips to points north (Freeport, Popham Beach, Boothbay Harbor, Christmas Cove, Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island, etc.).

The home WiFi was strong and constant, an essential plus for those of us who brought our laptops and work with us but also for the teenagers and their devices. A Sonos home sound system adds a nice touch during meals and after dinner.

The open kitchen and huge island work as well for serious cooks as they do for leisurely breakfasts or cocktail hours. Our extended family of 8 made good use of it and Linda has stocked it with all the essentials.

Our labrador, Cooper, was also in heaven and enjoyed his walks with us around the neighborhood, his time at the nearby Quarry Run Dog Park (just across the Presumpscot River that you see from the house) and also at the Allagash Brewery (dogs are allowed in the outside pavilion).

Falmouth near the town landing is also a charming place to explore, and you can stop in at the Town Landing Market for delicious sandwiches, ice cream and provisions (a huge Shaw's is on Rte. 1 in Falmouth for all the basics). Our favorite local purchase, however, was the seafood we bought at LindaKate Lobster's new retail store, which we discovered by chance across the street from the dog park on Ocean Ave. They supply locally harvested lobsters, crab and shellfish to some of Portland's top restaurants, including Eventide Oyster Co., The Honey Paw and Hugo's. The three dozen oysters we bought and shucked were delicious.

We all were sad to leave this idyllic place and hope to return to Sea Cove again! Thank you, Linda!

Gorgeous and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

This house is stunning. Tucked away overlooking the marsh, this house manages to feel remote while being centrally located to anywhere you'd want to reach in both Falmouth and Portland. There is plenty of room to spread out, and both the decor and scenery were incredible. I cannot say enough positive things about our stay!!

Convenient to shops while serving as an oasis

  • 5 of 5

The reaction of my wife was amazing. We typically stay in four star hotels and decided to expand our options. The house rental made our family get away awesome. My two young kids had room to stretch their mind - imagination and body. Staying here provided a perspective of what it would be like to live in Maine versus, a hotel reminds us that we are merely visitors in a revolving door. The home decoration is inviting and the home itself is comfortable. A television in the main room be the only addition I would make. Thanks for the stay. Greg of Virginia

Owner's Response: So glad you and your family enjoyed Sea Cove! We work very hard to keep the house comfortable and well-appointed. The nature setting so close to town is perfect for families. Thanks for the tip about a main room t.v. Please come and stay with us again when you come to Maine!

Breath taking home and view

  • 5 of 5

We were in awe with the home and especially the location with the break taking view of the wildlife refuge and sea. Taking a walk through the refuge was a perfect way to start each day. The home was beautifully decorated and all of the details were well thought out. In previous homeway rentals, sometimes the kitchen was missing things to cook a complete meal….This kitchen had everything we needed.

We will definitely be coming back.
