Your guest house was just lovely! It was very comfortable and so close to the fairgrounds. We were very pleased and look forward to staying again.
Feels like home!
This was our third year staying at this adorable cottage. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we come to Rhinebeck for the sheep and wool festival. Truly our home away from home.
So glad you enjoyed your stay, Libby and friends! If we had a loyalty program you would get 5 stars!!
Property was nice. No air conditioner is a drawback.
We had a nice visit. Lots of things to do in the area. Place is pleasant and Rachel provides all the necessities. Lovely flowers, lots of birds and we saw a deer one morning. Unusual in that the property is right by Rt 9. Substantial traffic noise. If the weather is hot, no air conditioning is a drawback. Our first night was quite warm. Lots of fans are provided, and that helped a lot, but it was still warm. Thankfully the weather was cooler for the rest of our stay.
Quaint cottage on beautiful grounds, close to town
The cottage was perfect for us and our child during a weekend visit to the area. The cottage was as advertised, though we felt that the interior pictures online did not adequately capture the actually-experienced coziness. Minutes to Rhinebeck and right off a main road - which created some traffic noise, the only drawback of the property. The owner, Rachel, was very nice and helpful with recommendations of places to visit in the area. We will definitely consider returning to the cottage for future stays.
Once again, a lovely weekend!!
This is our second time staying in this quaint, adorable garden cottage. Our group of four comes in for the sheep and wool festival, so we stay for the whole weekend. Conveniently located about a mile south of the village, we are a stone's throw from all the great shops, restaurants, and fairgrounds. This cottage could NOT be improved upon in any way. LOVE it!!!!!!
Beautiful grounds and close to many attractions
First, the positives, which there are many. This is a charming historic place decorated tastefully. It was spacious and has gorgeous grounds. Don't miss walking down the driveway as it opens up to expansive fields and ponds. Quite the view! The owners are very nice and all the pictures are accurate. It is an older home, so there is some quirkiness, but that is what makes it charming. It is very close to the village and many attractions. I was surprised that the owner did not include a notebook of brochures and tips from other people that stayed. That has always been the case in every other house we have rented. It was pretty clean, but not spotless. There were some ants, and they had traps set up. We were not over run by them, but made sure that we kept all of our food in the frig.
The biggest negative for us is that the place sits really close to the road, which was very busy during our stay. The traffic noise kept me and my husband awake. We are from the country, so we are not used to that and it really bothered us.
We knew that there was no air conditioning. Plenty of fans were set up. We also had to have the windows open to cool down the place at night, so that exasperated the road noise situation for us.
The parking area is also funky as it drops off and is a little area right off the road. You have to be careful entering and exiting with a car or else it scrapes the bottom.
This place would have rated a full 1 to 1 1/2 stars higher if it wasn't located on this busy main road, so if traffic noise does not bother you, or you are traveling off the summer season, I would recommend it.
